Cabinet decided to disable the official time for three days on the occasion of the New Year 2019.

According to the Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, the holiday will be "on Sunday and Monday, 30 and 31 December, as well as on Tuesday, 1/1/2019 to celebrate the New Year holidays." 
He added that the holiday is also "for the legal inventory days of all state departments and ministries at the end of the current year 2018"

Abdulmahdi asks Karbala officials to distribute land and build schools

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - 
Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi on Thursday held a meeting with a delegation from Karbala, in which he proposed the distribution of residential land and the construction of schools. 
"Abdul Mahdi received a meeting with members of the House of Representatives and representatives of the local government and security leaders of the province of Karbala, within the schedule of his meetings with representatives of all provinces." 
He pointed out "the importance of complementarity and cooperation between the executive and legislative authorities to achieve the best results and the issuance of legislation and laws." He stressed the importance of complementarity and cooperation between the executive and legislative authorities in order to achieve the best results and enact laws and regulations. Necessary ".
The statement added that "Abdul-Mahdi presented a project for the distribution of residential land, which aims to solve the housing crisis, as well as a project to build schools in ways and mechanisms to meet the demand to increase the number of school buildings in Karbala and all provinces according to population needs."

Shabibi always said they would need three days to do it.  Does anyone remember if they have ever had a three day weekend on new years (never mind a 4 day weekend)?
