The House of Representatives gives confidence to the candidates of the Ministries of Planning, Higher Education and Culture

 

 

The House of Representatives voted in its 19th session held under the chairmanship of Mr. Mohamed Halboussi, Speaker of the House of Representatives on Tuesday 18/12/2018 and in the presence of 276 deputies, to grant confidence to three ministers, while rejecting the vote on the candidates of the Ministries of Education, Migration and Displaced.

At the outset of the meeting, the Council voted to submit the third paragraph of the agenda for completing the vote on the ministerial formation.

In the same matter, the President of the Council presented the letter addressed by the Prime Minister to the House of Representatives on 4/12, containing the remaining names to fill the ministerial posts for submission to vote, noting that the letter included the provision of alternative names during the period between 24 - 48 hours in case Current names rejected.

The Council voted to give confidence to the ladies and gentlemen of the ministers, namely, Nuri Nateq al-Dulaimi, Minister of Planning, Dr. Qusay al-Suhail, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Abdul Amir al-Hamdani, Minister of Culture. The council refused to grant confidence to the candidate of the Ministry of Education, And displaced Hana Hana Emanuel, as well as postponement of the vote on the candidates of the Ministries of Interior, Defense and Justice.

The President of the Council in the presence of the Ministers at the next Thursday to take the constitutional oath before the House of Representatives, calling on the Prime Minister to submit new candidates within a maximum of 48 hours according to the contents of the book sent to the Council.

He instructed the president to be on Wednesday especially for the election of the presidents, deputies and rapporteurs of the parliamentary committees under the presidency of the Council on the election process.

It was then decided to adjourn the meeting until Thursday, 20/12/2018.

A statement by the Information Department of the House of Representatives received the agency {Euphrates News} copy of it today that "at the outset of the meeting, the Council voted to submit the third paragraph of the agenda for the completion of the vote on the ministerial lineup." 
In the same matter, the President of the Council presented the letter addressed by the Prime Minister to the House of Representatives on 4/12, containing the remaining names to fill the ministerial posts for submission to vote, noting that the letter included the provision of alternative names during the period between 24 - 48 hours in case Refuse current names.

The head of the Council of Ministers, Adel Abdul-Mahdi, will present new names to the education and immigration portfolios within the next 48 hours. 
"The Prime Minister, Adel Abdul-Mahdi, presented a letter to the Presidency of the Council of Representatives, including the submission of new names to fill the remaining ministries within 48 hours in the event of rejection of one of the candidates," Khalati said in a television interview. 
"It is not expected that the names of the candidates of the Ministries of Interior and Defense will be put to a vote during Thursday's session," he added. 
The parliament voted in favor of Nuri al-Dulaimi, minister of planning, Qusay al-Suhail, minister of higher education and scientific research, Abdel-Amir al-Hamdani as minister of culture, while Estezaar al-Ta'i rejected the ministry of education.

The deputies of the province of Nineveh, on Tuesday, that the quorum of the session of the Council of Representatives held today is incomplete, and indicated that they will challenge the ministers voted at the hearing. 
"Today's session was incomplete and the vote for granting confidence to the candidates was selective," MP Ahmad al-Jubouri told a joint news conference with Nineveh deputies held in the council building. 
He added that he "will resort to the Federal Court to challenge the ministers voted on," pointing out that "the vote on the candidate of the Ministry of Education was deliberately blocked, even though it is the only candidate for the province of Nineveh." 
He pointed out that "the absence of Abdul Mahdi for the meeting is a violation of the law and had to attend this important meeting."
The House of Representatives voted during the session held today to give confidence to Qusay al-Suhail, Abdulamir al-Hamdani and Nuri al-Dulaimi ministries of higher education, culture and planning, respectively.

The MP for the alliance Bader Sayegh in an interview for / Mawazin News / "Before the meeting tried to gather deputies in the hall, but failed to complete the quorum for the meeting, after the gathering of 146 deputies only, and then political agreements were entered to enter the reform alliance MPs and become the number 266 deputies "He said. 
He added that "after the quorum of the House of Representatives began to give confidence to the candidates for ministries of planning and higher education and culture and rejected the candidate of the Ministry of Education, which received only 90 votes and candidate Ministry of Immigration, which did not get the votes required."
