Pitcher
Sadrists preparing for 'angry' protest in Baghdad Friday FacebookTwitterGoogle+EmailWhatsApp The central committee responsible for supervising public protests in Iraq held a meeting on Thursday to discuss a demonstration set to be held on Friday in central Baghdad. The Sadrist Movement, led by prominent Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, warned several times of mobilizing people to protest against the manner in which the new government headed by Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi is being formed. The Sadrists object to the appointment of former IMIS leader Faleh al-Fayadh as interior minister, who has been Abdul Mahdi's candidate for the position since he first started forming his government. Informed sources said that the director of Sadr's office in Baghdad, Ibrahim al-Jaberi, held the meeting of the committee to discuss the latest preparations and developments of the Friday protest. The Sadrists intend to go out on Friday in Tahrir square in central Baghdad, in an angry mass demonstration, affirming that supporters of Sadr from all Iraqi provinces will participate, the sources said. The Friday demonstration aims at exerting popular pressure to complete the government and force Abdul Mahdi to exclude some candidates for certain ministries who the Sadrist Movement accuses of being supported by external parties. Jaafar al-Mousawi, a spokesman for Sadr, said earlier that Sadr would not stand by the government if it defies the will of the people and the clerics. Mousawi explained that the new government headed by Prime Minister Abdul Mahdi will fail if independent ministers are not appointed. https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/en/Story/34079/Sadrists-preparing-for-angry-protest-in-Baghdad-Friday

Donziman
It was reported last week that the Iranians had a hit ordered on Sadr. Guess we know why Sadr doesn't want certain people heading these ministries. They are on Iran's secret pay-roll to make the GOI fail. Same old stuff. 1
