BAGHDAD (Reuters) - 

The parliamentary legal committee held a meeting on Wednesday to discuss the items on its agenda, including compensation for dead fish farmers and the use of government wheels. 

"The Legal Committee held a meeting today under the chairmanship of MP Faik Al-Sheikh Ali and in the presence of its members to discuss a number of the items on its agenda," a statement by the Information Department of the House of Representatives.

"The meeting discussed a number of proposals and draft laws on its agenda, including a proposal to amend the election law, and the committee agreed to reformulate some paragraphs of the proposal to amend the law to submit the final version of the law to the Committee on Sunday. 

He pointed out that "the committee discussed the proposal to use the wheels of the executive branch by the ministers and agents and directors-general and its divisions, stressing the need to organize the mechanisms of work and the preparation of those vehicles." 

"The committee agreed on the wording of the decision to compensate the dead fish farmers for submission to the House of Representatives for a vote," the statement said.

Deputy Speaker of Parliament: 111 bill awaits legislation

 

BAGHDAD (AP) - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Bashir Haddad revealed Wednesday (December 5th, 2018) that there are 111 draft laws from the previous parliamentary sessions, pointing out that the House of Representatives is keen to pass the largest number of laws during the current session.

Haddad said in a statement followed by the obelisk, that "the bills that remained in the House of Representatives and did not complete the previous parliamentary sessions amounted to 111 draft laws."

He added that "the current House of Representatives seeks to pass the largest number of these laws inactivated in coordination with the committees and parliamentary blocs," stressing that "the priority will be projects and laws that serve the citizen."

Presidency of the House of Representatives stressed, on Wednesday, to accelerate the formation of parliamentary committees within the parliament. 
"The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives presided over the meeting of the Finance Committee of the Parliament, and during the meeting discussed some of the amendments that were assigned by the amendment committee to the rules of procedure of the House of Representatives, and the importance of keeping pace with these amendments Changes in the work of some committees and the integration of some of them and the expansion of other tasks. 
Al-Kaabi stressed during the meeting the importance of speeding up the file of the presidencies of all parliamentary committees to start their tasks according to the specialization of each committee, noting that "there are many international laws and conventions that need to be studied by the committees in preparation for raising them to vote."

The Legal Committee held a meeting under the chairmanship of MP Faik Al-Sheikh Ali on Wednesday 5/12/2018 and the attendance of its members to discuss a number of the paragraphs on its agenda.

The meeting discussed a number of proposals and draft laws on its agenda, including a proposal to amend the election law. The committee agreed to rephrase some paragraphs of the proposal to amend the law and submit the final version of the law to the committee on Sunday.

The Committee also discussed the proposal to use the wheels of the executive branch by the ministers, agents, general managers and their divisions, stressing the need to organize the mechanisms of work and preparation of these vehicles.

The committee agreed on the wording of the decision to compensate the dead fish farmers for submission to the House of Representatives for a vote.
