Mahdi would have been forced to resign if he met President Trump in the middle of the night at a military base in Anbar.  The optics of such a visit would have been all the Mahdi opposition would have needed to call for a vote to replace him.  It would have been an embarrassment for all Iraqi's.   President Trump has invited Mahdi to visit USA with a state dinner and all the pomp and ceremony.  This is the way it should be and will be.  Rohani needs to go back to molesting goats!
