5-29-2019   Intel/Newshound Guru another site   In Iraq, they're articles written every day to mislead you...A week ago, I received information that the Iraq Central Bank (CBI) was distributing old banknotes.  This is a false story.  The CBI is not distributing any Iraqi dinar currency that is old or what you would consider lower denominations

Question for AC ~ why misled us..? And what are they trying to hide from us (and the world)?👀

Cranman, each note has a value, not same value. And u are right, there has to be a rate in place...that is why the CBI is informing all the  banks to update their sorting n counting so they can do the necessary, such as auditing ....

Roger.  When you said the two note would exist side by side I ASSUMED  you meant that they would have the same value.  That made no sense to me. I've heard that said before and could never figure out how that could be the plan.  On the same page now.

BAGHDAD, Iraq -

The Iraqi politician, Antifad Qanbar, is expected today to touch on US sanctions against Iraq because of statements made by Foreign Minister Mohammad Ali al-Hakim, in which he declared support for Iran.

"Al-Hakim's statements during his meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Muhammad Jawad Zarif put Iraq in the eye of the battle, while he should have said that we stand with the international community with the United States," Qanbar, a close associate of the US administration, told reporters. Against any attack on the international community and against terrorism issued by Iran. "

He stressed that "the statements of the Iraqi Foreign Minister, damaged the interest of the Iraqi people and the interest of the region, the US sanctions may apply to Iraq, because of the statements of Foreign Minister, really disgraceful."

The Iraqi political analyst Najm al-Qasab said that " "Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohammed Ali al-Hakim has to change these rhetoric," he said. "Iraq does not tolerate any attacks or attacks on the Iraqi people."

"He said at a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Jawad Zarif in Baghdad earlier:" We say it, Frankly, we are upset US sanctions against Tehran and stand beside Iran. "

Abdul Mahdi to Washington after the Eid to offer mediation and calm and exclude Iraq from sanctions on Tehran

 Issue number: 4441  5/29/2019 9:26:49 PM

Baghdad / Wael Ne'ma

Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi will play the role of postman between Tehran and Washington in Iraq's efforts to keep the specter of war out of the region during his upcoming visit to the two countries. According to political parties and parliament, Abdul Mahdi will complete what many countries are doing to convince the two sides that war should be avoided.

In his upcoming visit to Washington, the prime minister will also carry files on energy purchases from Iran and the status of US forces in Iraq.

Abdul Mahdi revealed two visits to the United States and Iran, and said that they would be soon, and will discuss a number of issues, especially the current situation in the region.

The Prime Minister, during a press conference held Tuesday afternoon at the headquarters of the government in central Baghdad, that his country is moving towards calm, in order to spare Iraq the consequences of sanctions on Iran.

The visit of Abdul Mahdi to Tehran will be the second during his term of office, while Washington's visit has been postponed several times for political reasons, according to some leaks.

The prime minister did not mention the date of his visit to the United States, but some talk in the political arena is that the date of the visit will be next June, after the holiday of Eid al-Fitr.

The move comes at a time when President Barham Saleh is visiting Turkey and Parliament Speaker Mohammed Halboussi is the Jordanian Queen. Abdul Mahdi arrived in Qatar and met with her Emir Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani.

The Foreign Minister, Mohammad Ali al-Hakim, expressed Baghdad's readiness during the visit of his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Zarif to Iraq this weekend to "play the role of mediator between Washington and Tehran to resolve the existing crisis, out of its desire to establish security in the region."

But Zarif responded to Hakim's speech. "We do not need mediation," Zarif told a news conference in Baghdad. "We welcome and appreciate the actions and support of our Iraqi friends."

"Iraq is very interested in avoiding any war in the region because it will be the biggest victim," said Mukhtar al-Moussawi, a member of the House Foreign Relations Committee.

The MP pointed out that "85% of Iraq's oil exports pass through the Gulf, and any tensions in the region will affect the economy of Iraq, especially as we could not find other outlets through Syria or develop the transport line with Turkey."

More than one political party in Iraq has revealed its readiness to carry out by way of the escalating crisis between Tehran and Washington, including the leader of the wisdom movement Ammar al-Hakim and Parliament Speaker Mohamed Halboussi, one of the deputies said that the latter had been threatened with liquidation because of his intervention in the crisis.

In a televised interview a few days ago, Mohammed al-Karbouli revealed that an armed faction operating on the Iraqi scene sent a death threat letter to the speaker of parliament.

Karbouli added that the threats that reached Halabousi came because of his position on the crisis between Iran and America, and confirmed that leaders in the popular crowd and the construction coalition were informed of this threat.

Visit Washington

In addition to the crisis in the Gulf, Iraq has pending files on its domestic situation, especially the energy file and the fear that its territory will become a battlefield for proxy war between Iran and the United States.

According to some political sources, Abdul Mahdi will confirm, during his upcoming visit to Washington, Iraq's stand on neutrality, although some of the partners of the latter are skeptical about the possibility of achieving this option.

Nuri al-Maliki, the leader of the coalition of state law, one of the components of the construction alliance that supports Abdul Mahdi, said that the position of neutrality in the crisis between Tehran and Washington is "no longer acceptable" because of Iran's rejection of the war.

The leader of the National Coalition, Iyad Allawi, said yesterday in a television interview commenting on the crisis between Washington and Tehran, "Iraq has no possibility to impose his opinion on America and Iran."

On the other hand, Baghdad may face a crisis if Washington refused to exempt from sanctions imposed on Iran, which ends in mid-June.

According to political sources, Abdul Mahdi hopes in his upcoming visit to the United States to obtain a "long-term exemption for the purchase of energy and gas from Iran."

The minister of electricity, Louay al-Khattab, said a few days ago that importing gas from Tehran was a "temporary matter" and that the ministry was working to end it soon.

"In two or three years, we hope to announce that there is no need to import gas," he said in a televised interview. "The import of electricity can be dispensed with faster, in one year."

In addition, MP Mukhtar al-Moussawi said that "Abdul-Mahdi discusses in Washington the future of US forces in Iraq"
