Jaafari will visit Damascus next week and meet Assad
 Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari plans to visit Damascus next week at an official invitation during which he will meet his Syrian counterpart Walid al-Moualem and President Bashar al-Assad.

"Jaafari and the teacher are scheduled to meet on Monday morning in Damascus," a well-informed source said.

For his part, spokesman for the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, Ahmed Mahjoub, that the Minister Jaafari will visit nearby Syria.

Mahjoub said in a press statement that "the date of the visit will be determined early next week."

On the first of this month, Minister Al-Moallem issued an official invitation to Jaafari to visit Damascus.

The call came during a telephone conversation between the parties, and a statement of the Iraqi Foreign Ministry that he touched on "the importance of further efforts, and security coordination to counter terrorism, and discuss the most important issues that concern Baghdad and Damascus."

The last visit of Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari to Damascus in March 2015, where he discussed with the Syrian officials the file of terrorism and a number of issues of common interest. At the same time Jaafari stressed that "Syria and Iraq are fighting to advocate the terrorist acting by the whole world."

Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari will travel next week to Syria for talks with Syrian President Walid al-Moallem and President Bashar al-Assad. 
A source familiar with the details of the visit / according to the agency, "Sputnik", that "the Iraqi Foreign Minister in Syria next week on a visit during which he will meet with President Assad and Syrian Foreign Minister."

revealed a political source familiar with the main reason for the visit of Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari to Syria , indicating that there are clear files between Iraq and Syria. 

"It is known that there are clear files between Iraq and Syria concerning the fight against terrorism, military and political cooperation, and the four-party alliance between Iraq, Syria, Iran and Russia ," Al-Arabi quoted the source as saying .

 

 


He added that "Iraq has finally pushed a large military reinforcements to the Syrian border for control," adding that "did not rule out that there is clear military cooperation, air and ground, of Iraqi forces inside Syrian territory." 

Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari arrived in the Syrian capital Damascus on Sunday for a two-day official visit.

"Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari arrived today in the Lebanese capital of Beirut on an official visit," ministry spokesman Ahmad Mahjoub said in a statement received by Mawazine News. 
Mahjoub added that "al-Jaafari met with Lebanese President Michel Aoun at the Baabda Palace. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen them." 
He pointed out that "the three-day visit during which Jaafari will meet with Speaker Nabih Berri, Prime Minister Saad Hariri and a number of political and executive leaders."

senior Syrian delegation will visit Iraq soon to discuss the opening of the border crossings between the two countries, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmad Mahjoub said Tuesday. 
"We believe that the opening of the crossings will benefit both sides for the benefit of the two countries," Mahjoub said in a press statement carried by "Russia Today" and his follower / Mawazin News. "Baghdad is seeking during the current period to normalize the Syrian relationship with its Arab and regional environment, Good relations with Iraq and its neighbors ". 
The spokesman added that "there is an obstacle to terrorist pockets in the border areas between the two countries," based on "there is security coordination between the Iraqi and Syrian armies to eliminate these groups."
He pointed out that "the issue was raised during the meeting of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari in Damascus and discuss the subject directly."

Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri on Thursday expressed his intention to visit Iraq after the formation of the two governments, expressing his hope to work on the establishment of a joint economic council that will contribute to boosting economic relations between the two countries in the coming period. 
"Jaafari met with Lebanese Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri in Beirut," Foreign Ministry spokesman Ibrahim al-Jaafari said in a statement received by Mawazine News. 
The meeting also discussed bilateral relations and means of developing them to serve the interests of the two brotherly countries. They also discussed efforts exerted to accelerate the formation of the government in Iraq and Lebanon and the overall developments in the Arab, regional and international arena.
Al-Jaafari stressed that "Iraq seeks to develop relations in various political, economic and security fields; to deepen the historical ties that unite the two brotherly peoples" and called for "more coordination; to facilitate the procedures for granting entry visas to Iraqis wishing to visit Beirut; Has a great impact in opening new horizons for joint cooperation. " 
He continued that "Iraq has won on the gangs of Daash terrorist, and today works on the reconstruction of infrastructure," calling on Lebanese companies to "invest, and contribute to support Iraq in the reconstruction and construction."

Foreign Minister Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jaafari met with Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad in Damascus and discussed the enhancement of joint cooperation and the opening of the border crossings between the two countries, in addition to reviewing the developments taking place in the region and internationally.

The minister said during the meeting "The world until recently was afraid of Daesh terrorist gangs and  that the Iraqis and the Syrians faced it and achieved successive victories. Today, everyone is looking with respect and appreciation to what has been achieved. We must continue security cooperation and prevent the return of terrorism." To preserve the achievements made in the war against terrorism, and to activate the political and economic issues along with security.

Minister Al-Jaafari added  "Iraq and Syria are steadfast in the face of terrorism and will have a promising future and we have many opportunities for cooperation on the issues of the region and safeguarding the interests of the peoples," stressing that the atmosphere is now more positive towards Syria, and that Iraq's initiative return Syria to the Arab League.

On his part, the Syrian president stressed his keenness to activate bilateral relations in all fields and intensify the political dialogues between the two countries. He pointed out that the victories achieved on terrorism in Syria and Iraq are common victories because the arena in both countries is one and the blood of heroes who made these victories in both countries.

The Syrian President stressed on "continuing security and intelligence coordination and exchange of information," especially as Iraq today enjoys a special place  in the region and we must continue to work together to maintain security and stability and to meet the challenges facing the region. He praised the great efforts made by Dr. Al-Jaafari and the Iraqi Foreign Ministry in the past period towards Syria and the Arab, regional and international issues.
