Before allaq came along lets not forget that abdul basset turki was also appointed governor of the cbi by maliki and he did the same thing that allaq is doing. It was a no no then and is a no no now. The currency is to be stamped with the central bank of iraq on it and not the name of the governor of the cbi because that position is suppose to change every 8 years. Also the cbi governor is suppose to be voted upon in parliament and not just appointed by the prime minister. The one thing that jumped out to me in all these articles is where Nassif (cant believe she's in there again), says its perfectly fine and legal for allaq to do that so it tells me if she likes it then it shouldnt be done.  The u.s. treasury , the imf and the world bank have worked with both cbi proxies and i think it was because as long as they got the things done that needed to be done that they wouldnt rock the boat until a new pm got in their that they could really work with. Abadi may have tried but lets face it he was a dud and would not cut his ties to iran. At least with mahdi i can see him really initiating the economics of it. Abadi was in economics but really didnt touch the needed laws to get this done. One thing that i am confident of is that mahdi is not a stooge.

Turki was in washington not long after being placed then just sat there as a good lame duck gov. , maliki appointed  by proxy Alaq , the imf and others got involved overseeing much of the bank and the auctions were used to rob and steal the banks money, there was a huge amount of counterfeit iqd to get US dollars being exchanged thru two of the state banks one was the rashid(sp) forgot the other that maliki orchestrated , years later we learned Iran was heading up much of the fake money it was beyond belief and incredibly difficult to read over the long timespan it was happening , it was always debated in guru battles if alaq was the cbi gov. or acting gov. by proxy , great to see currency movement once again ... cheers dv..... disclaimer ( rough timeline paraphrase )

The Iraqi parliament failed in its session on Tuesday to take a decision on the issuance and printing of the new local currency and raised controversy around it.

 

"We need a special session on the work of the Central Bank, preceded by the introduction of data on the work of the Central Bank during the previous years," said Hassan al-Kaabi, first deputy chairman of the council.

 

"The date for hosting the central bank governor will be set on Thursday," he said.

 

The meeting was adjourned until Thursday.

 

Last week saw the launch of the Central Bank of Iraq, the amounts of small currency categories to the market with changes to its design.

 

The new edition of the thousand dinars category of Al-Ikhlas, where the new currency mediated by an Assyrian star preceded by the design of a statue, surrounded the circle where the Assyrian star words to include the marshes of Iraq on the list of world heritage 2016.

 

The name and signature of the acting governor Ali Mohsen Ismail was added to the new currency design.

The agenda of the House of Representatives for its session No. (6), which will be held on Thursday. 

The House of Representatives will discuss, during tomorrow's session, a general topic of discussion on the grades and the transfer of powers (Ministry of Finance and Secretary General of the Council of Ministers).  The Council will also discuss the topic (Student Rates - Central Admission Scheme). 

Finally, Parliament discusses the formation of permanent parliamentary committees of the House of Representatives.  The session of the House of Representatives, which will be held on Thursday, at 2 pm. 

The Parliament will determine during the meeting tomorrow, a date hosted by the Governor of the Central Bank Ali Alalak. 

On Tuesday, the House of Representatives held its regular session for the fourth legislative session for the first legislative term under the chairmanship of first deputy Hassan al-Kaabi and 225 deputies.

I can only guess that they are waiting on a formal PM announcement and fully voted cabinet. Then 'maybe' things will get in full motion. That's the way I see it going down also. IMHO the reason Abadi is not still the PM is because he didn't prosecute Maliki or any big time officials or bring prosperity to the people. Even though he liberated them from ISIS that still wasn't enough to win another election.

 

The same with the current proxy CBI governor. With all his trophies an that a-boys will not be enough to keep his job. Putting his name on the new currency is only an excuse to fire him. If he would have given the people more purchasing power (RV) he would have been a hero an had a long term job but waiting until a more suitable, secure environment has back fired on him is my belief.

 

The new PM appears to me is starting to replace everyone from previous administrations. I read an article not long ago stating the new PM would be Mahdi an Abadi would be the VP, they got half of it right now waiting to see if Abadi will be a VP...
