Another missed opportunity disappears.

Conditions in Iraq are rapidly deteriorating.

What must GOI do to halt the riots?

We can say good-by to any RV in 2018.

Iraq just can't seen to get it together.

9-8-2018   Newshound Guru David M. Witty   In Basra Province, Iraq, Basra Operations Command imposes curfew after another evening of major destruction. (In reality, curfew appears impossible to implement).  Iraqi Parliament convenes. Heated exchange between PM & Governor of Basra Province.  Iraqi Parliament has turned into a shouting match with calls for government to resign. Acting Parliament President having a tough time controlling it.

Between the last call – Basra has ignited once again.  Turkey has cut off their water.  Iran has cut off their electricity.  The people are hungry, thirsty and hot.  Burning government buildings.  They want food, water and employment for the young people.  Getting out of hand.
How do they solve that problem.  Articles came out saying US causing the problem so they can declare an emergency and Abadi become PM for next two years until 2020.  That is Maliki’s news putting that out.
Abadi is putting out Maliki is inciting these riots trying to make Abadi look bad.  Then today they say it is really Iran’s military causing the problem.  Iran backs Maliki.  That is one and the same.
Troops going to try and calm things down.  Abadi said, “give them their money now.”  The money they need to complete projects and start jobs.  All because on Sunday Sadr will have a million man march again, not in Basra, if this is not resolved by Sunday.

From where I sit.... it looks just like the reports say... total confusion... they seem to be ungovernable and don't care a whit about the people they have been elected to represent... This can easily destroy Iraq and our investment... IMO

"It is also possible to solve some problems by taking advantage of the current financial abundance due to high oil prices,"

An MP talking about using the 2018 budget to solve problems...Tamimi suggests that anyone saying Iraq has a financial crisis is a liar... Well well, they are now getting on the band wagon.. Imo we will now see more of that, as they’ll want to be on the side of get us our money now... Read HCL... The statement from Sadr he would film the extraordinary session must have worked!! The MPs that hinder the money being electronically given to the people of Iraq now will suffer political consequences and possibly more, especially if they are exposed as Iranian supporters of interference...

Iraqi President announces plans for tomorrow's meeting to include naming a new president and a new speaker...hopefully with the attendance of the Kurds. Sadr's comments on TV did not receive a positive reception.

...there is no indication as to how far they must go on this topic of corruption. This is one of the unknowns. But anyone with any common sense can clearly see that at least the GOI and Judiciary must help the CBI clean up this currency auction fraud and manipulation by arresting these individuals who run these phony banks.

9/10/2018  Rudaw News....

Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi visited Basra to meet with Governor Majid al-Nasrawi and other top local officials

“A detail discussed of the reality of services — especially providing drinkable water — took place,” tweeted the office of the PM.

Abadi last visited the province on July 13, a week after protests broke out. After a lull, the demonstrations gained momentum last week, leading to the burning of the Iranian consulate, pro-Iran political and militia offices.

“His Excellency emphasized that our visit to the Basra province today has the goal of a field study of the service conditions and to be assured of the stability of the province, and the movement of normal life in it…” added Abadi’s office.
