Iranian official calls for negotiations with Washington in Iraq

I like how the last article starts, "It announced that the US administration of President, Donald Trump , it is conducting a review of whether the lifting of sanctions against Iran is in the US national security interest."

And then

"He said US Secretary of State, R. Lex Tillerson , in a letter to the President of the House of Representatives, Paul Ryan, the largest Republican member of Congress, on Tuesday, said that Iran is still committed to the agreement reached in 2015, but pointed out that "there are concerns about its role as a sponsor of terrorism. ""

Threat of additional sanctions on Iran may or may not be an effective lever to get Iran out of Iraq since IMIS, etc is a potential candidate for being placed on the terrorist list. This is potentially good news for removing foreign entities from Iraq (Iran in this case) that have been and are meddling in Iraqi affairs.

Go Moola Nova!

Only an insignificant volume of Iranian assets frozen overseas remain inaccessible, the Central Bank of Iran’s deputy for foreign exchange affairs said.

“Problems related to the blockage of Iranian assets are mostly rooted in banking correspondent relations. For instance, it is possible that we have deposits in a country where our correspondent relations have yet to be established,” Gholamali Kamyab also told IBENA.

According to the official, the main reason for Iranian assets remaining blocked overseas is a lack of political ties. He, however, reminded that the country has nevertheless been able to free a significant volume of its assets.

“Assets remaining in a particular country, not yet released as a result of sanctions, are not many. In other words, we have blocked assets, but their number is not very big,” he said.

According to CBI, $9.9 billion of its frozen oil money were released and repatriated from the UAE, Britain, India, Greece, Italy and Norway following the implementation of the nuclear accord, apart from the release of $12 billion from Japan, South Korea and India.

As part of the Geneva interim agreement, which was signed in November 2013 and its two subsequent extensions, a total of $11.2 billion of Iranian assets were freed and the amount reached $30 billion since the agreement’s implementation.

CBI Governor Valiollah Seif has denied the presence of any obstacles for bringing the freed money to Iran, saying that the country prefers to keep those assets abroad.

Noting that only $1.5 billion worth of bonds are left in western countries, Kamyab noted that the total amount stood at $3.7 billion, only $1.5 of which are inaccessible.

“We also have assets in a neighboring country,” he added, without elaborating.

  Second-Country Transfer

According to the official, a number of correspondent banks have the ability to transfer funds, but other banks are unable to do so.

Therefore, in a number of countries where Iran had blocked assets, the country was able to transfer the funds through banks and did so.

“The funds were transferred from the source country to another country and from there, they would be transferred to other countries,” meaning that the blocked assets were transferred to Iran through a second country.

This was done because “a major bank with various branches” existed in the second country, but with regard to a number of countries, the funds could not be transferred this way “and when the issue of freeing blocked Iranian assets is brought forward, we must pay attention to this [obstacle]”.

Iran has currently $2 billion of its assets frozen by the US. In a decision that was also green lit by the US Supreme Court last year, Iran was held financially responsible for a 1983 bombing in Beirut that killed 241 US Marines.

However, Iran has not relinquished its claim on those assets and lodged a complaint at the International Court of Justice last summer to clarify the issue.

In another case, $1.6 billion of assets belonging to the Central Bank of Iran were also frozen by a judge in Luxembourg. A group of victims of the Sept. 11 attacks in the US have brought the first-of-its-kind case against Iran that led to the freezing of assets. Iranian officials have expressed confidence that the case will eventually end in Iran’s favor and the judge will rule that the victims have no right to use that money as compensation.

Another Iran deal low for the Obama administration

Just a week after the US Senate failed to stop the Iran nuclear deal, Tehran launched a major cyberattack on the State Department — and the Obama administration kept it secret, The New York Post wrote in an editorial.

The Washington Free Beacon broke the story last week, revealing that Team Obama was even more craven than we’d thought.

The two sides were then still negotiating the “side deals” to finalize the accord; it wasn’t too late to stop it. And the attack showed that Iran wouldn’t remotely begin to moderate its ways, as the Obamaites had hoped.

Indeed, the hacking seemed to target the State personnel involved in those negotiations — the better to wring a last few concessions, no doubt.

It’s obvious why Iran thought it could get away with it: Washington had proved willing to cede every point in order to reach a deal.

President Trump has yet to junk the deal, and understandably so: President Barack Obama gave away so much up front (billions in cash as well as hundreds of billions in sanctions relief) that America may be better off trying to make the rest of it stick.

But that doesn’t change the fact that Obama’s chief foreign-policy achievement was in fact a shameful defeat for the nation and the world.

Published agencies Iranian images and videos of protest rallies to dozens of victims in front of the doors of the institution, in all provinces, demanding the recovery of their money before the announcement of official bankruptcy.

Says one protester in the publication on YouTube section, after the Iranian police forces attacked and beaten the combined stole our money and then attack us.

According to the BBC 's Persian site, quoting sources in the capital Tehran, police clashed with protesters after loud rallying cries for the recovery of deposits from government - backed institution.

According to Iranian sites that surrounded the assembled head of the institution , which was located inside the building, and that the police came to save him from angry protesters after the financial institution refused to retrieve deposits.

Although the organization published a statement, the middle of this week, denied the bankruptcy, but Iranian sites confirm that the institution closed many of its branches in the Iranian provinces; after failing to implement the auditors requests, and the two institutions Almalitan 'matter , winning' and'arman 'Alaaranian may have raised a few months ago a sensation inside the country; after their inability to return the investors ' money.

He described the Minister of Industry and Minerals and the Iranian trade, economic crisis, the former, the 'acute and incurable', stressing that the Iranian banks suffered complete paralysis.

The agency quoted 'ISNA' news statement by the Minister of Industry and Minerals and Trade, Mohammad Zadeh, about the difficult situation experienced by Iranian banks, he said: 'We must recognize today in front of everyone that banks in the country hit by complete paralysis, and is unable to pay the deposit and profit and bank dues citizens ' legitimate'.

He said the problem we face today in the banking sector is the difficulty of reforming the banking system in Iran, where the dilemma is essentially linked to the erroneous construction of this important financial system '.

Zadeh noted that the financial crisis in the country included various vital and important sectors, in different proportions; such as agriculture, industry, minerals, and trade.

The financial and administrative corruption has spread in Iran, and Iranian banks are still suffering the problem of non - performing loans, and isolated from the global system because of the sanctions imposed on it, and more than double the financial situation of Iranian banks and close relations with the Iranian government to deal with the risks.

Economy News Baghdad:

For the first time in 33 years, the elections of the Association of Banks of Lebanon have been a real battle for the nomination of two competing lists, after it was preceded by the General Assembly meeting and over these years the consensus by acclamation. The "Banking Decision" headed by Joseph Tarbaye, comprising representatives of large and medium-sized banks (one-fourth of the number), came in opposition to the "Change Definitely" list headed by Bank of Beirut chairman Salim Sfeir, which was incomplete and included representatives of small and medium-sized banks.

With this victory, the council itself returns to its previous members, with the same number of votes being issued, except for the "Resource Bank", which was replaced by the Bank of Beirut and the Arab States, represented by its chairman Ghassan Assaf.

The quorum was also a sign of the sharpness of the battle, as it has not achieved this figure in the presence of 61 banks out of 63. The sources in the sector that the victory of the Tarbih list established the legitimacy of the consensus, which has traditionally adopted the Assembly in the elections.

Following the announcement of the victory of the 12 candidates who constitute the Board of Directors, the Board elected, in turn, the Board of Directors of the Board as follows: Tarbiya as President, BLOM Bank President Asaad Azhari as Vice President, Lebanese Lebanese Bank President Walid Rufail as Secretary of the Board, The Board of Directors was composed of members Nadim Al Qasar (Fransabank), Abdul Razak Ashour (Venice Bank), Simon Bassil (Bank Byblos), Anton Sahnawi (Societe Generale Bank Lebanon), Mohamed Hariri (Mediterranean Bank), Ghassan Assaf Beirut and Arab countries), Freddie Paz (Bank Audi) and Safir (Bank of Beirut).

Following the election of the Board of Directors, Tarbih stressed the need to continue coordination and consultation with members of the banking family and to continue close cooperation with the monetary authorities, especially at this delicate stage in the region and in the rapid development of the political, economic and security situation in neighboring countries.

He also stressed the need to "support the policy of maintaining monetary stability and follow up communication and cooperation with regional and international financial authorities abroad."

Tarbih started the session of the General Assembly with a speech summarizing the achievements of the previous Council, recalling "the difficult period of our banking history in the last two years, and was internally in the tax campaign on the sector, and outside in a new direction to tighten US sanctions." He declared that the confrontation was "an international and domestic communications movement." "The last visit to the United States last May focused on following up on the proposed new law for further sanctions against Hezbollah and its proxies. During the meetings, we stressed the negative effects that this law could have if it was approved and the damage Which may be attached to Lebanon and banking in it. "

He stressed that the delegation of the Assembly "insisted during the meetings in Washington and New York, that the current US legislation in force sufficient and able to eliminate the need for any new texts may leave inappropriate interpretations, especially as the Lebanese banks succeeded in applying compliance rules under the roof of the Central Bank and acceptance of international references , Including the US Treasury Department. " The Delegation pointed out that the proposed new legislation might require reconsideration of all the successful procedural mechanisms implemented and adhered to by Lebanon.

Tarbih did not forget that the US banks correspondent to the Lebanese banks "expressed their satisfaction to deal with the Lebanese banking system." He expected "positive developments in terms of the safety of the sector, based on the conviction of the international community, which we regularly review, the importance of stability in Lebanon, and the banking sector is a cornerstone of this stability."

Declared Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Mohammad Bagheri, in remarks on Monday that the development of the United States, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard on one level with terrorist groups is a big risk by US authorities and its bases and military forces in the Middle East.

The transfer of the Office of Media Relations for the chief of staff of the army that Bagheri took part in the festival ground forces of the Islamic Revolution Guards in the city of Mashhad, where he pointed out that "threats of arrogant powers and some of the reactionary states to transfer the risk to the Iranian interior, calls for higher vigilance and readiness degrees in defense and security fields, abortion these projects ".

In referring to the subject of the possibility of the imposition of US sanctions against the Revolutionary Guards Bagheri he said that "the Iranian people to Tama resisted the global arrogance, the US and especially it said, and was able to hold his face, and be resistant to more and more day after day, so the sanctions will be an opportunity to develop and achieve pride and self-reliance and energies located inside Iran. "

The Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces: "Equality of the Islamic Revolution Guards with terrorist groups, and a ban on it, is something that would jeopardize the United States and its bases and military forces in the region at risk."

He stressed Bagheri that "US officials should speak wisely for greater maturity and other countries, especially if powerful countries such as Iran, which responded to all the plots strongly Hmokh."

It is noteworthy that some US officials said, earlier this year, the management of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, is considering a proposal that could lead to the classification of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard a terrorist organization.

The Senate voted by the US Congress, in mid-June, in favor of imposing new sanctions on Iran for its ballistic missile program and other activities not related to international nuclear agreement, reached with the United States, Russia, China, France, Britain and Germany in 2015.

The House of Representatives must approve the new legislation and ratified by President Trump to become law.

After three days of the US Senate vote on the new sanctions, Iran fired missiles at eastern Syria, targeting bases for the organization Daesh which claimed responsibility for the attacks in Tehran in which 18 people were killed.

I agree the first sign of hostility I would let loose a wave of terror. BLuster, cruise missiles and tag land and sea Targets. Take out some low level Commo, monitor Commo from there and once Commo confirms high ranking targets send in a second wave.

Well I think all the countries should follow Maliki's orders that  he gave the Iraq troops in 2014, (I think) to lay down all their weapons and just walk away,  then they will think they have won and jump for joy!  Wronggg  If I was in charge I would pray to almighty GOD that  most all the Iranian troops are together or in a couple places . Once everyone is far enough away fly Puff the Yellow Dragon in then drop the Mother Bombs instead of bullets right on top of them, problem solved in Iraq plus no need to bury them. If outside of Mosul would be fantastic then they dump all the rubble in the hole, cover with sand? Then the people of Iran can take care of the rest of the BAD DUDES there. Once this is done North Korea's people might think this will work for them. hum? Wow, you will kill 2 birds with MOTHER there goes the nuke threats up in dirt!! All the countries will have to agree to pay for the bombs, US's part is to drop them where needed. Watch all the terrorist turn tail and run. My take on this subject.

Iran announces change of currency

Twilight News

 one hour ago

In a surprise decision, the Iranian government decided to replace its currency with a new currency.

Where the Iranian government announced that it considered the Toman the main currency in Iran as an alternative to the riyal, and the Toman equal to about 10 riyals.

The government's decision came at a cabinet meeting chaired by Iranian President Hassan Rowhani in an effort to amend financial laws within Iran.

The Toman is the currency of ancient Iran, used until the 1930s, and later replaced by Rial, and to this day most Iranians refer to it by that name.

The official exchange rate of one US dollar is about 3,200 tomans, while the unofficial price is 3900 tomans per dollar.

The price of the dollar in Iran is currently more than 32 thousand riyals Iran, where the price of the dollar rose slightly after the announcement of the plan to transition to Altuman, but later declined.
