Just wait until those back-stabbers realize Iran is capable of lobbing nukes at every

one of their capitals. Then they will expect the US Military to jump in and make

everything right again. As Arnold would say...……….

Maybe we should close our bases in the EU because Iran will be looking to use those ballistic missles they weren’t supposed to be developing the first time they have a disagreement.  Great friends and Allies. As a matter of fact maybe NATO needs to be dissolved.  This is a shallow move on their part imo.

China fears the impact of US economic sanctions on Iran, which prompted it to reconsider its trade relations with it recently .

Beijing has begun slowing its work on an Iranian nuclear project, as its current trade negotiations with the United States are entering a critical course .

The director of Iran's Atomic Energy Agency Ali Akbar Salehi acknowledged on Wednesday that the Chinese are reducing the pace of cooperation with the Iranians, despite their commitment to redesigning the Arak Heavy Water Reactor, the South China Morning Post reported .

Salehi said China feared possible US sanctions on its nuclear facilities if it continued to cooperate with Iran, the IRNA news agency reported.

Salehi urged Beijing to normalize the project and insisted that alternative options existed if China withdrew from the project.

Beijing and Tehran have agreed on the project as part of a nuclear deal with Iran reached in 2015 .

A spokesman for Iran's Atomic Energy Agency, Behruz Kamalundi, accused China earlier this month of disrupting the project .

The re-design of the Arak reactor with China was supposed to take place at a faster pace, he said, adding that the two countries were cooperating to install the equipment in the redesign process .

He stressed his country was ready to move to the next stage of work alone if necessary.

Mikhail Bogdanov, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Russia's special envoy to the Middle East and North Africa, went to Baghdad on a two-day working visit.

The visit of Bogdanov to Iraq coincided with the announcement by US President Donald Trump, his intention to keep his troops in Iraq to monitor the activity of Iran.

Lavrov said at a joint press conference with his Iraqi counterpart that Moscow hopes that the US military presence in Iraq will meet its stated objectives of combating terrorism and helping the government achieve stability, not to address the geopolitical tasks of the United States in this region.

Yep .... it’s all our fault they now have the capacity to govern themselves etc. etc. etc. etc. Perhaps they’d prefer to have Maliki or something akin to Saddam back in power.

Nothing says peace & tranquility like a murderous Dictator, Secret Police, Informants, Spys, Family members disappearing never to be heard from again...this list is endless.

We should be ashamed and apologize profusely for giving these people the opportunity to head down THE TERRIBLE PATH TO SELF GOVERNANCE AND ECONOMIC PROSPERITY !!!

I just feel awful about this. 🖕

I’m sure we all have some choice adjectives we could use to describe these ungrateful people.

Iran Launches Gold-Backed Cryptocurrency 'PayMon'

The Islamic Republic of Iran has reportedly launched a gold-backed cryptocurrency called “PayMon” – the Persian word for covenant – in cooperation with four local banks and the Ghoghnoos Company, in a move made following international sanctions.

According to the Financial Tribune, the country has launched the gold-backed cryptocurrency in cooperation with the Parsian Bank, the Bank Pasargad, Bank Melli Iran, and Bank Mellat. An over-the-counter (OTC) cryptocurrency exchange called Iran Fara Bourse is also expected to adopt the cryptocurrency.

The news outlet quoted Valiollah Fatemi, director at Ghoghnoos, who revealed the PayMon was set to be used to tokenize the financial institutions’ assets and properties.

According to Ghoghnoos, a total of one billion PayMon tokens are set to be issued initially. The move comes months after international sanctions started crippling the country’s economy by forcing payment networks such as that of SWIFT from offering services to its institutions.

This has stopped Iranian citizens from conducting business with the rest of the world, and saw the country’s government plan a rial-supported national cryptocurrency, that as reported was to go to commercial banks in a first phase. While little is known about the cryptocurrency, some believe it was developed for the Iranian central bank by Informatics Services Corporation (ISC).

In a second phase, the rial-backed cryptocurrency – which is set to only be issued by Iran’s central bank – would go to citizens in the country. The gold-backed crypto, PayMon, was also launched shortly after the central bank issued draft cryptocurrency regulations.

These reserved a ban that stopped local banks from dealing with cryptocurrencies, while easing some of the rules the country had on cryptocurrency ownership. While cryptos like bitcoin still can’t be used as a payment method in the country and there are limits to the amount people can hold, ICOs and cryptocurrency wallets are now allowed in the country.

Cryptocurrency mining has reportedly also been given the green light. Late last year, Iran’s Deputy for Management Development and Resources Alireza Daliri publicly signaled his government’s support to develop and use blockchain platforms, for both public and private uses.

Iran Finally Launched Gold Backed Cryptocurrency

Iran has finally launched its cryptocurrency after much speculation. The stable coin known as PayMon which was launched purposely to bypass economic sanctions from the united states was launched recently as reported by Financial Tribune.

The Iran National Stablecoin

The new Iran national cryptocurrency that is launched, PayMon is to see deployment as a tool by the country to fight the effect of economic sanctions on the country. As reported in recent time, the cryptocurrency was scheduled to be launched during the electronic banking and payment systems conference that started on the 29th of January. The report noted that the crypto would be launched in two phases, firstly as a tool to facilitate interbank payment and later as a tool for conducting transactions.

The new cryptocurrency, a stable coin, ‘PayMon’ means covenant in Persia and is being developed together with a local fintech firm Kuknos. The crypto has seen partnerships with some local crypto exchange in the country such as Bank Mellat, Bank Melli Iran, Bank Pasargad, and Persian Bank. Also, it is likely to be deployed as an alternative to SWIFT international transfer platform which has functioned as a tool for the united states to effect economic sanctions on the country in recent time. Such type of sanctions led to hyperinflation in the economy of the country last year.

Meanwhile, the news of the new cryptocurrency also came along with the news of lifting of the ban on the use of Bitcoin and initial coin offering ICO by the central bank of Iran.

National Crypto Adoption and Success

Iran is not the first country to launch national cryptocurrency. However, the goal of the launching is similar to the goal of the country that has launched it in the past which is to fight economic sanctions and salvage the economy. Venezuela petro which was launched last year by Nicholas Maduro to combat economic sanctions and salvage the crippling economic situation of the country has been a failure since the launch. The crypto has faced sanctions from the united states and bills also initiated to cripple its function.

Recently, the US treasury and financial crime arm FinCEN issued to Iran against the ‘illicit’ use of cryptocurrency. This could be termed more like the use of cryptocurrency to evade US economic sanctions. The success of Iran’s national cryptocurrency cannot be determined yet until it is fully implemented and proven. However, sanctions are still likely to come from the US.

(Reuters) - Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi said on Monday that Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi was in the process of achieving his government's program, while acknowledging the difficulty of eradicating terrorism in the country and the region.

"The military defeat of Da'ash and the formation of a new government in Baghdad may represent a turning point not only for Iraq, but for the region," Saleh said in a speech during the start of the 2019 International Conference of the Rafidain.

"There is an opportunity to push the country towards stability and this requires political and economic changes in the country. It also requires an end to the crises suffered by Iraq and the Iraqis and the reorganization of the current political system," he said.

"There is great hope that the new government will be able to meet the demands in its program and the provision of services," he said, calling on the political forces to support Abdul-Mahdi in the task entrusted to him.
