International Development Bank is licensed by Visa Card International

The International Development Bank (IDB) announced on Monday that it has obtained a Visa Card global license to issue cards locally. 
A source at the bank told "Economy News" that "the International Development Bank for investment and finance obtained the license of Visa Card International to issue cards locally," noting that this step is a major banking achievement to develop banking and introduce modern technology to serve customers. 
The source added that the International Development Bank is ready to cooperate with banks to serve the revolution of banking technology and the creation of new services to be included within the work of the banking system.

"On Wednesday, the central bank will sign a memorandum of understanding with Visa International that will provide the legal framework for the company in terms of providing services, consultancy and support to the banking and financial sector," said Central Bank Payments Department Director, Duha Abdel Kareem.

"The presence of Visa International in Baghdad will make a positive change on the economic market," adding that "the central bank has steps to support competition between international financial companies."

Thanks Yota....You would think that there had to be something brought up about the true market rate of the dinar and how it's performance on the international market with an open economy would benefit the process a whole lot better than spreads on the auction...jmho

Not sure what iraqs version of it is but this is how the world bank views it , in short its getting the unbanked banked .'

 

Financial inclusion .........means that individuals and businesses have access to useful and affordable financial products and services that meet their needs – transactions, payments, savings, credit and insurance – delivered in a responsible and sustainable way.
