Why does he allow Maliki to roam free?

Rocky, this is the reasoning I have had for a while as to why Maliki is not behind bars:

Maliki has a large following, all the crooks, corrupt, liars and cheats. Iraq has been unstable not only for a few years, but decades. When Maliki left the government as prime minister, he was still connected with powerful people and members of the parliament, and then they had ISIS invade, which now has basically been removed from Iraq.

IMO if Abadi had arrested Maliki, his followers would have made sure a civil war erupted, causing more strife and instability (exactly what dictators and Iran like). I am sure that Maliki cannot make a move to get coffee that somebody doesn't know where he is, more or less escape to another country, and even then he could be picked up considering the interest the international community has in getting him arrested. Abadi has left him to roam to keep the conflicts down, and now with Sadr having so much power,  and hopefully a solid government could be in place soon, and the old GOI is going out which removes any immunity for them, the wheels of justice will begin to turn.

Just my opinion.

Yota691- Good evening to you and all of DV. Thank you very much for your continous effort in keeping  all of us interested in Iraq, it's currency, and other related topics up to date and "in the know."

I personally find the words used to describe, and label, the  'former regime' as vague and intriguing as many of the terms used by the CBI to describe  its future intent of the IQD. I believe  the article above refers to the former regime as that which was under  Hussein's reign, but it's easy to speculate on how these words refer to Maliki...I recall a comment about 3 years ago from  Shabibi who said that Maliki "built a house that could hold 30,000 million people" (which should be fairly easy  to spot on Google maps.)

I look forward to a day-  very shortly - in which the language in these articles isn't hard to interpret , and simplly says: ""The IQD is international and is worth x-amount of dollars" ....and I certainly hope that X is equal.to or greater than 1 in that equation...

Go RV!!!
