Great question, BlueSkyLine, AND The Best Of Your Week To You!!! I kinda wonder if the Silk Road wasn’t going to be restarted in the 70s with Iran amenable to The United States Of America. This is about the same time as China being elevated to a permanent member of the UN Security Council circa 1977. Since Iran fell in 1979 under the watch of Flimsy Carter, the strategy may have been to go from West to East from Iraq through Iran. With Iran now teetering on flipping again, this may bode very well for all of us to see the Silk Road revived under the title of The Belt And Road Initiative. I think Iraq, and now Iran, are all pieces in a bigger picture. I suspect more Good News about Syria and Lebanon are to follow. The 241 Marines who paid the ultimate sacrifice in Lebanon in 1983 still weighs heavily on my heart and mind. They would not have been there and have been targeted for no reason. Hopefully we will see things flip in the next few weeks to months. I think things are weighing more in our favor. There is a significant amount of natural resources to be had in Iraq and Iran so having trade routes reestablished through the Belt And Road Initiative bodes heavily in our favor for world commerce. https://www.cnn.com/2013/06/13/world/meast/beirut-marine-barracks-bombing-fast-facts/index.html Just my conjecture, thoughts, opinion, and for whatever THAT is worth!!!
