The General Authority for Customs announced on Tuesday its financial revenues during eight months, which exceeded one trillion and one hundred and eight billion Iraqi dinars. 
In a statement received by Mawazine News, the agency said it was able to achieve unprecedented financial revenues for the period from the beginning of the year until 31 August 2018, exceeding one trillion and one hundred and eight billion Iraqi dinars. 
"This rise came as a result of the implementation of reforms aimed at combating corruption and increasing the efficiency of the customs centers reflected in the revenues of August 2018, which amounted to (180) billion dinars, an increase of more than (54) billion dinars for the same month last year."
 The Commission noted that it "is keen to contribute actively to the State budget and the fight against smuggling and commercial fraud of all kinds through the application of laws and instructions that will support the national economy and the protection of members of society."

spite of the Kurdistan Regional Government's demand through the ministries concerned to raise customs points at zero and raise customs points on the roads of Erbil - Kirkuk and Sulaymaniyah - Kirkuk, but the Iraqi government has conditions to raise these points. 

In order to agree and discuss the issue of these customs points, a trade delegation consisting of representatives of 6 ministries of the Iraqi government will visit the Kurdistan Region to discuss this matter and is expected to continue this visit. 

"We have discussions with an Iraqi government delegation consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Finance, Health, Interior, Trade and Industry, on the lifting of the customs points, but no," said Nozad Adham, Director General of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of Kurdistan Regional Government. There are still some points that have not yet been agreed upon.

Adham pointed out that 75% of the various materials that enter the Kurdistan Region through the border crossings, are going to the Iraqi provinces, but the presence of these customs points have led to change traders from the course of their trade. 

Noting that it was agreed with the Iraqi delegation on several points, such as the organization of drawings, and import cars at customs points according to a unified system, is expected to be an agreement between the Iraqi delegation and the delegation of the Kurdistan Region on other points during today's meeting. 

A number of Kurdish parliamentarians have demanded in the last few days to include the issue of customs points on the agenda of the Iraqi parliament.
