Direct: The Iraqi Council of Ministers decided to standardize customs tariffs at all border crossings, including the Kurdistan region.

The Council targeted the decision to facilitate the procedures of traffic and remove obstacles, according to the official account of the Prime Minister on Facebook.

At its meeting yesterday chaired by Adel Abdul Mahdi, the Board agreed to amend its previous decision on the date of interest payment from loans to contractors to support their work.

The Council discussed a number of issues, including support for local products of agricultural and industrial use in the framework of reducing dependence on imported products, according to a statement

With regard to housing, the Council decided to transfer the ownership of the land on which the buildings of the residential project of Basmaya to the Investment Authority was submitted for transfer to citizens. This enables them to achieve the conditions of credit and benefit from bank loans, and also contributes to the treatment of the housing crisis.

In the press conference after the meeting, Abdul Mahdi launched a large housing project in various governorates to distribute state land to the citizens and give it to them free of charge.

The decision focused on slum dwellers, poor slums and those who do not own housing, by allocating large areas near the cities according to the size of the governorate, and with an area of up to 200 square meters for each family provided that they are used for housing.

The Jordanian government will begin to impose customs duties on goods imported from Turkey as of Thursday after Jordan informed the Turkish side in May of the suspension of the free trade agreement signed between the two countries.

Jordan and Turkey signed a partnership agreement to establish a free trade area in December 2009, to enter into force on March 1, 2011.

Official figures show that Jordanian exports to Turkey have declined, as imports from Turkey are rising.

Jordan decided to cancel the agreement as it did not achieve the desired results of the Jordanian economy in terms of that there was no proportion between the increase of Jordanian exports to Turkey compared to the volume of large imports from Turkey.
