Laid Back, looks to me that the USA is coming down on the auctions according to the great article you posted yesterday, and the above article sounds like something came out of our Baghdad embassy that put their feet to the fire. Threat of sanctions is working its magic. How do you get a camel to move? Sanction him.

Totally agree Carrello,

The pressure is ON the CBI.

“The warning came during a visit of the Assistant Secretary of Treasury Billingsley, when he met with the finance minister and the governor of the Iraqi central bank, they were told that the Iraqi funds “oil revenues” kept by the DFI Fund and transferred to Iraq each year worth 8 billion dollars in the form of cash that their value will be reduced to an unknown number.”

The USA was very clear ..... No more hard currency to the Iranian regime.

I’m starting to believe the pressure from USA could accelerate the RV process

Go RV sooner than later

Go $1:1

The decision is focused on amending the Constitution, reconciliation and reconstruction .. It is a decision taken by the Security Council each year at the request of Iraq .... I see no justification for extension, especially after The exit of Iraq from Chapter VII The presence of this mission suggests that Iraq is still a state incomplete sovereignty ... Or on the lips .. Maybe Iraq is not the least favorite but definitely ranks near the bottom based on this statistic:

Iraq is the 168 least corrupt nation out of 175 countries, according to the 2018 Corruption Perceptions Index reported by Transparency International. Corruption Rank in Iraq averaged 162.19 from 2003 until 2018, reaching an all time high of 178 in 2007 and a record low of 113 in 2003.

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – A delegation from the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) arrived in Baghdad for the first time in nearly three decades.

The visit comes in response to an invitation made by Baghdad.

UNSC delegations to Iraq have been suspended since the invasion of Kuwait in the 1990s and ensuing sanctions against Baghdad.

A spokesperson for Iraq's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmad al-Sahhaf, said the one-day visit was part of Iraq’s support for “stability and reconstruction,” and would be done in a way that “confirms the sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of Iraq.”

No accompanying visit to the Kurdistan Region was announced, but could not be ruled out.

The UNSC is made up of five permanent member states – China, France, Russia, the UK, and the US – and ten non-permanent member states which serve two-year terms. Currently, those are Belgium, Côte d’Ivoire, Dominican Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Germany, Indonesia, Kuwait, Peru, Poland, South Africa.

According to Sahhaf, the international delegation and Iraqi officials will discuss the latest developments in the country as well as the growing concern in the region due to current US-Iranian tensions.

Two days before the delegation landed, A large gathering of demonstrators, some appearing to be wearing military uniforms, stormed the Bahraini embassy in Baghdad late Thursday to protest the American so-called "deal of the century" Middle East peace proposal.
