A collective resignation in a Kurdish party threatens to break it up
(Baghdad: al-Furat News) Six H members of the leaders and members of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Movement of Kurdistan, resigned from the party, because of his policy and the intervention of the general guide in the formations of the party.
According to Kurdish media, the resignation of the six leaders came Tuesday morning, because of dissatisfaction with the party's policy and the intervention of the general guide in all the formations of the party. 
In the coming hours, the leaders will release a statement on their resignations. 
The outgoing members of the Kurdistan Islamic Movement are Kamil Mahmoud, Hama Amin Ashuri, Mohsen Mohammed, members of the Political Bureau, Sarbaz Khoshnaw, Mullah Ghafoor Jammali and Aram Kamel, who are leading members of the party. 
"The reason for their resignation is that all the powers are monopolized by the leader," said Srebaz Khoshnawi, a leading member of the Islamist movement. "Two months ago, through a project that demanded that their party be an institutional party, their request has not yet been answered."

It's all about the greed, brinkmanship & getting their " deserved " piece of the action. The citizens don't stand a chance. Oh they'll get some  great table scraps . . . but the real winners: the Career Criminal Politicians. 

 

This situation is not unique . . . ALL governments have their rats. Over the years, we've just seen these folks in such glaring light it gives us pause to look even deeper at our " Democracy."

What democracy 10? These days it’s but an illusion of democracy. Sad days lie ahead for this country. I just read today that our trade deficit with China was at a record for 2018. Up 17 percent from 2017. Not that has anything to do with democracy but it makes you wonder what’s really going on. The 16 day Obama gov shutdown has cost this country 24 billion to date and .6% gdp. We are in day 24 and counting. The long term effects of this one are going to be huge. All for 5.6 billion to fund the wall. 

Sad really. I hope I’m wrong

On the situation in Kirkuk, Mohammed said that "our headquarters are occupied in the province by the popular crowd and the rest of the ranks of the Iraqi security forces," adding that "the party is not ready to be there in the presence of military hegemony."

"We have to normalize the situation in Kirkuk and end the military manifestations and then we will reopen the party headquarters in the province," he said.

On the session of the Kirkuk Provincial Council, which will be held in the capital Arbil, the spokesman said that the selection of a new governor of Kirkuk will be an agreement between the Democratic Party of Kurdistan and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.

A political source in the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) said Friday that the political bureau informed them of an official letter that they had no right to make press statements to any media organization. 
A source for the 'orbit', that 'the political bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan told an official letter all members that they have no right to make press statements to any media institution'. 
The source added that 'the decision came so as not to affect the statements on the course of meetings between the National Union and the Kurdistan Democratic and create obstacles to the agreement between the parties that are planned to be held between the two sides', pointing out that 'the ban lasts for only one week.'

An informed source said Saturday that the Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan will hold a meeting, today, to nominate the party candidates for his share of positions in Kurdistan and the province of Kirkuk.

The source said in a press statement followed by "The Covenant News", "The Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, will hold a meeting today in Sulaymaniyah at 11 am."

He pointed out that the meeting comes "to discuss a number of files, including naming candidates for the executive positions in the Kurdistan government as well as the post of President of the Parliament of the region and discuss the file of Kirkuk," adding that the meeting will discuss "activating the political agreement with the Kurdistan Democratic and the situation in Baghdad and discuss the names of candidates for the post of governor of Kirkuk "He said.

On Tuesday (February 5, 2019), the Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) agreed to resume holding meetings in the provincial parliament, appointing a candidate for prime minister and re-convening the Kirkuk provincial council.

"In the next few days, a joint committee of the two parties will begin to prepare the political project of the new Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG)," PUK spokesman Saadi Ahmed Perah told a news conference after the meeting in Erbil.

He pointed out that "efforts will be made to finalize the Committee in the preparation of the paper and the government program in a short time and during this week."

He pointed out that "it was agreed during the meeting that the Kurdistan Regional Parliament will hold a meeting on February 18, and that the Kirkuk Provincial Council will hold a meeting on the same date in cooperation between the two main parties and the Kurdistan Regional Government to choose a new governor."

He added that the two parties agreed to assign the candidate of the Prime Minister, Massur Barzani, during the meeting scheduled to be held on the date mentioned, in addition to the selection of Governor of Kirkuk.
