A meeting of the Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan in Sulaymaniyah began on Saturday to discuss two dominant issues in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

An informed source told Twilight News that the meeting was held shortly under the direct supervision of the First Deputy Secretary General of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Kosrat Rasul Ali.

The source added that the meeting will discuss the party's project with the Kurdistan Democratic Party to participate in the next federal government, and the formation of a delegation from the National Union to persuade the other opposition parties to participate in it.

The source added that the meeting will also discuss the parliamentary elections for the Kurdistan Region

This comes at the start of another meeting of the four opposition parties in Sulaymaniyah on Saturday morning to resolve its position on participation in the next federal government after the announcement of disappointing results for the counting and hand counting of the results of the Iraqi legislative elections held in May.

A source familiar with the twilight news said that the meeting started at the headquarters of the Movement of Change in "Zorkata" in Sulaymaniyah in the presence of its general coordinator Omar Sayyid Ali, the Secretary General of the Alliance for Democracy and Justice Barham Saleh, the leader of the Kurdistan Islamic Group Ali Babir, and the Secretary General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union Salahuddin Bahaa El Din.

The source said that the meeting will discuss the participation of parties in the new federal government or not, and parliamentary elections for the Kurdistan region scheduled for the thirtieth of next September.

He added that "all names have been submitted to the Ministry of Interior in the Kurdistan region before ratification," pointing out that "the ministry excluded one candidate from the names raised." 
He pointed out that "29 lists and parties and coalitions are competing in the elections scheduled for the end of September next," stressing that "the Commission completed all preparations and technical equipment and completed the audit of the voters' records."
"A large number of organizations, media and observers of political entities have registered with the Commission to provide them with special packages that allow them to monitor the elections," he said.

"Barzani received, today, the consuls and representatives of the European Union countries in the Kurdistan region," the Information Office of the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Nigervan Barzani, said in a statement received by Mawazine News. 
The statement added that "the meeting was discussed during the meeting on the latest political developments and the conditions of the province and the ongoing preparations for the parliamentary elections in Kurdistan on the thirtieth of September."
