I will say one thing about who will have the most say in Iraq’s new government, I’m glad Trump is President.

I believe Iraq doesn’t want to take orders from anyone but they are incredibly weak and will use whoever they can.

Chuck. I thought about this for awhile and came to the conclusion that Sadr may not have had a choice.  Or, some deal was made before the election to place Sadr as the victor.

It is tough to cobble together a working government and this may be the best thing for Iraq and us. Remember before the election there was so much good news and even since the election there have been some good developments.  I just hope for the sake of the Iraqi people this new government will continue the movement toward an international rate for their money and reconstruction.

As I stated in my other post, let’s see what happens.  I am optimistically cautious but I’m kind of like Cuba Gooding Jr in “ Jerry Maguire”,  “show me the money”

Same here , if Maliki or any of that groups lead this  ountry i can see being a money pit and investors backing out.

In Politics  July 10, 2018 on the newspaper: a tripartite agreement combines Abadi with Maliki and al-Ameri in one closed coalition 49 visits

Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi and Vice President Nuri al-Maliki on Saturday night reached an agreement to dissolve the candidate of the post of prime minister next to the mechanism of settlement (agreement) or vote in the presence of the head of the Badr Organization Hadi al-Amiri, according to a report published by the newspaper in Baghdad .

The newspaper reported in its issue on Tuesday (10 July 2018) that after a break lasted nearly four years in which the rival yesterday exchanged accusations of theft and corruption at times and increase the rate of poverty and unemployment in the country at other times, reached a wing of the invitation led by Maliki and Abadi last Saturday night to an agreement, And the participation of the leader of the Badr Organization Hadi al-Amiri, to form a tripartite alliance that combines the rule of law and conquest and victory, and congratulates the head of the Baiarq al-Khair bloc, Khaled al-Obeidi, who threatened to withdraw, between serving in one of the important ministries or vice president or prime minister in exchange for ensuring his survival Transferring P to be configured .

Observers describe the new alliance as a clear attempt to wrap up the alliance of the first winner in the legislative elections that took place last May and will cut the way for all attempts in the past days to form the largest parliamentary bloc .

In this context, the former deputy and winner of the election of the coalition of state law, Hussein al-Maliki, "the Dawa Party to resolve the differences between the wings of al-Maliki and Abadi and managed to bridge the gap between them after reached at the last minute to understandings ended the break between the two teams ."

The candidate for the coalition of the rule of law, "the responsibility to delay the merger of wings of the call to the insistence of Abbadi on his assumption of the post of prime minister for a second term as the negotiations that started after the announcement of the election results between the conquest and victory and the rule of law," stressing that Abadi "is not his conviction to resolve the prime minister's compromise or Vote, not in the direct way he wants . "

According to information obtained by the newspaper that Hadi al-Amiri, who leads the list of Fatah has changed his position and does not want to ally with a coalition going, in a move considered by observers as a turning point within the Shiite lists, which began to split into two axes, one supported by Tehran and seeks to return the Shiite house, .

According to the sources of the newspaper there are candidates for prime minister will be raised from the conquest and victory and the rule of law will be the process of selection by settlement or vote, "and that" the candidates are Tarek Najm and Mohammed Shiaa Sudanese and Khalaf Abdul Samad, "with a problem facing the opening is the nomination of Faleh Fayyad for the post of prime minister " .

The leaders of the Dawa Party and former members of the coalition of state law during the past days intensive dialogues between the wings of Abadi and Maliki tried to bring the views between Abadi and Maliki and the formation of a bloc or a unified coalition .

The relationship between al-Maliki and al-Abadi deteriorated in 2014 against the backdrop of the nomination of the latter by the National Alliance for prime minister. This led to cracks within the Dawa Party that were clearly reflected in their media discourse .

Abadi and Maliki signed before the legislative elections on 12 May last a secret agreement holds the signatures of 11 leaders in the Dawa Party requires the parties to stay away from the media, political, public and coalition after the election.

I am ok with Maliki being in the mix with Sadr and Adabi. They can babysit him and move his money where they need it. If he doesn’t want to comply they will take his money and put him out in the streets and let him fend for himself. It’s a good idea for him to play by the rules or it won’t be pretty for his future.

Since I'm pushing 77 soon, I try to be careful of trusting the old noggin.  I But, it seems to me that Zebari has come up several times as one of the most accomplished crooks in Iraq, on a close second level behind the Malikis and here more apropos, his (Zebari's) fellow Kurds the Barzanis and Talabanis.  Ergo, I read this as misdirection being not so subtly pushed to help the Iran/Maliki/Amiri complex to save their  butts politically by minimizing and misdirecting all attention back to them and their own political shenanigans!
