Former CIA director David Petraeus said the current Iraqi parliament includes people who were in jail during his term as US commander after 2007.

Petraeus, a former commander of US forces in Iraq, said during his participation in the Manama Dialogue Forum that "weapons in Iraq are not currently under state control and this is a matter of stopping."

"There are people in the Iraqi parliament who were in prison when he was commander of US forces in Iraq," he said, "which is suspicious and disturbing."

On the other hand, Petraeus noted that "the sanctions expected on Iran in early November will be different," stressing that "the current US administration does not appear to make concessions to Iran as the previous administration, and that companies choose between the United States and Iran."

He stressed the need to "stop Iran's nuclear activities" and stop its support for what he called "terrorist militias", noting that "Tehran increased its interference in the region."

Either Karim Aliawi Mahmudawi was in hiding or fled to iran or turkey but the only ones capable of protecting anything was the Peshmerga they held their territory and kept the oil rich kirkuk region from complete destruction heres a short recap to jog your memory Mahmudawi ....... :

In January 2014, ISIL took control of Fallujah and Ramadi, inciting conflict with the Iraqi Army. On 4 June, the insurgents began their efforts to capture Mosul. The Iraqi army had 30,000 soldiers and another 30,000 federal police stationed in the city, facing a 1,500-member attacking force. However, after six days of fighting, the city, Mosul International Airport, and the helicopters located there all fell under ISIL's control. An estimated 500,000 civilians fled from the city, due to the conflict.
