Do you have any links that clearly explain what the party options are.....and the good and the bad for each..........I could google it, but it wouldn't be anywhere as good as what you might provide as local views and explanation.......Thanks in advance.....CL....

People need to realize that what happens in Italy is key to what happens to the EU.........and will have an affect on the world as well......JMO

Coorslite.....Thanks for the intelligent question which is appreciated....

Will try  to find some links with clear ( sigh....going to be difficult, I foresee...) explanations about the options

I am the first one to admit that Italian Politics is incomprehensible...even for Italians !

So it must be certainly something from Mars for non -Italians  and understandably so...

Oh, this Country of mine....

This came out before the elections

These are the promises Italy's political parties have made to voters

Italy's election will take place on March 4th -- that much is certain. But with a new and untested electoral system, deep rifts in the ruling Democratic Party, and a possible comeback on the cards for one Silvio Berlusconi, anything could happen

Basically what happened was that Salvini supposedly convinced his right-centre partner Berlusconi (Forza Italia party ) to step aside and not creating an obstacle in forming a gov't deal, as requested by M5S.....
Or else there was the chance to return to new  elections  as soon as July even ( when most Italians go on vacation).....

Italy’s radical M5S and League on verge of forming government

After two months of post-election negotiations, a coalition agreement – if not a decision on a prime minister – seems imminent

umb's note: If this thing really is able to take off, then  it will be the most populist gov't Italy has ever had...And Voters will keep the 2 parties accountable for their promises....

M5S has promised to give everybody ( without a sufficient income) EUR 780 ($936) and more for Families but they must go look for jobs and enroll in the employment agencies ( which are terrible  here anyway...in that they are usually totally un-effective to get you a job...)...At the 3rd work offer they should decide to refuse , they won't get this  check anymore

League has promised to get a flat 15% tax for everybody...

The question is: Where are the Billions of Euros to cover all that????
