Trump Gets Another American Prisoner Home - From Iran

Xiyue Wang poses with his wife and young son at a dinner table.

Spy vs Spy?

One family’s ordeal ends today with the release of Xiyue Wang, an American citizen and Princeton PhD student imprisoned in Iran on vague espionage charges since 2016—at the end of a dissertation research trip gone terribly wrong. Iran, which is currently wracked by weeks of violent protests and economically crippled under a U.S. sanctions campaign, freed him in exchange for the release of an Iranian scientist held in the United States, with Switzerland acting as the go-between.

Trump Gets Last Laugh With Trudeau After Jobs Reports Released For Both Nations

One is an alpha male and the other is a delta (sleepy) male?

WASHINGTON, DC - JUNE 20: U.S. President Donald Trump meets with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in the Oval Office of the White House June 20, 2019 in Washington, DC. The two leaders were expected to discuss the trade agreement between the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

  • Nonfarm payrolls surged by 266,000 in November, better than the 187,000 expected by economists polled by Dow Jones.
  • The unemployment rate ticked down to 3.5% from 3.6%, back to the 2019 low and matching the lowest jobless rate since 1969.
  • Average hourly earnings rose by 3.1% from a year ago, slightly above the 3% expected by economists polled by Dow Jones.

CNS News reported that the 158,593,000 Americans who were employed in November marked “the 24th record of Trump’s presidency” in terms of the overall number of Americans in the workforce.

Oh Canada...

Trudeau’s economy took a very different turn than the U.S. economy did as it registered the biggest drop in employment in a decade.

“Canada’s job market unexpectedly weakened for a second-straight month, registering the biggest drop in employment since 2009 and casting doubt on the resiliency of the domestic outlook,” The Financial Post reported. “The economy lost 71,200 jobs in November, Statistics Canada said Friday in Ottawa, following a decline of 1,800 in the prior month.”

“The report missed the median economist forecast for a gain of 10,000 jobs,” The Financial Post continued. “The unemployment rate increased to 5.9 per cent in the month, from 5.5 per cent in October, the biggest one-month jump since 2009. The decrease in employment was broad-based among both the goods-producing and service-producing sectors.”

Trump finishes Phase One of the New China Deal:

"We have agreed to a very large Phase One Deal with China. They have agreed to many structural changes and massive purchases of Agricultural Product, Energy, and Manufactured Goods, plus much more. The 25% Tariffs will remain as is, with 7 1/2% put on much of the remainder.

The Penalty Tariffs set for December 15th will not be charged because of the fact that we made the deal. We will begin negotiations on the Phase Two Deal immediately, rather than waiting until after the 2020 Election.

This is an amazing deal for all. Thank you!."
