Survey: Satisfaction with Trump's handling of economic issues is high

Direct: A recent survey showed that the satisfaction with the performance of US President Donald Trump on the treatment of the economy recorded a new high level.

The survey, conducted by Global Research and Consulting Corporation Gallup, released Tuesday, showed 56 percent of adults in the United States agree with Trump's approach to the US economy.

This is the highest reading of Trump and the highest acceptance rating for the US president in any of the 14 Gallup poll.

The survey also found that the majority of voters agree with Trump's approach to employment, unemployment and the situation with North Korea to be 54% and 51%, respectively.

But at the same time, overall satisfaction with US President Donald Trump remains at 43 percent, according to the survey.

While 54% of American adults reject Trump's performance as president.

Trump also got the lowest reading on dealing with Russia and corruption in the government at 39% and 37%, respectively.

Ninety-five percent of Republicans agree to Trump's economy, compared with only 20 percent of Democrats.

Overall, only 6 percent of Democrats approve of Mr Trump's performance, while 90 percent of Republicans are satisfied with the president, according to the poll.

The results of the survey, conducted from February 12 to 28, are based on 1932 adults in the United States.

US to end preferential trade status for India, Turkey

Washington "intends to terminate India's and Turkey's designations as beneficiary developing countries under the Generalised System of Preferences (GSP) programme because they no longer comply with the statutory eligibility criteria," the Office of the US Trade Representative said in a statement on Monday.
