President of the National Sheriff’s Association and Marion County, Indiana Sheriff John Layton says President Trump’s securing China’s ban on the deadly opioid fentanyl is a “win for America” and families in the United States.

In an announcement last week, Chinese officials said beginning May 1, the country would ban all forms of fentanyl, the fatal opioid drug that is 100 times more powerful than morphine and 50 times stronger than heroin.

WASHINGTON — Fewer Americans signed up for unemployment benefits last week, another sign the U.S. job market remains healthy.

 

THE NUMBERS: The Labor Department said Thursday that weekly claims for jobless aid slid by 10,000 to a seasonally adjusted 258,000. The less-volatile four-week average rose by 1,000 to 252,500. Overall, 2.01 million Americans are collecting unemployment checks, down 10 percent from a year ago.

The Trump administration will soon release new regulatory changes aimed at ensuring that federal housing assistance goes to qualifying citizens and legal residents, not illegal immigrants.

Sources familiar with the proposal told RealClearPolitics that the updated rule is meant to bring the Department of Housing and Urban Development into closer compliance with existing law.

While Section 214 of the Housing and Community Development Act prohibits HUD from making financial assistance available to anyone other than citizens or legal residents, the administration contends that a loophole allows ineligible residents to skirt the law. Sources told RCP that a single legal resident can apply for assistance and then use the benefit to house illegal immigrants.

The rule would require HUD to verify the legal status of applicants with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services through a program called the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements. Officials described it as a sort of E-Verify for entitled.  It could go into effect as early as this summer.

 

The regulatory fix comes at a moment when millions of Americans are waiting on housing assistance. According to HUD estimates, three of every four families who qualify do not receive help paying their rent, and in many places demand far outstrips supply.

A national survey conducted by the Public and Affordable Housing Research Corp. found that in 2013 waiting lists had been closed for more than two years by 41 percent of public housing agencies across the country. According to a separate 2016 analysis of federal data by the progressive Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, the average wait time is over three years.

So we give Illegal Immigrants money for housing, free tuition (in most states) and the right to vote (via driver's licenses, in many states), Medicare for kids, free education K-12, and various other benefits for setting foot within our boundaries.

 

And yet people wonder why so many people support Trump's "Build The Wall" campaign promise...doesn't take a genius to make the link between why Illegal Immigrants want to come to America and the one thing that has the best results in limiting the number of people coming here Illegally.

WOW, all those accomplishment in the first 2 years and to hear the media tell it he has done NOTHING! But the mistake the LSM & the Rats make is they think the average Americans (you know the ones that keep America going) are ignorant hicks. Trouble is these hicks are seeing right through the smoke screen BS the Rats are trying to sell. Have to wait and see how well that Shiite plays in 2020.
