Iraqi Airspace open for Israel to strike Iran: Sagnic

Iraq emerges as a potential target for Israel as it steps up efforts to eliminate the Iranian land bridge to the Levant, Ceng Sagnic, the coordinator of Kurdish Studies Program at the Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies in Tel Aviv said.

Israel may soon strike Iranian targets beyond Syria’s borders and launch aerial campaigns in Iraq where the airspace is defenseless and the political vacuum is too deep for the government to claim territorial sovereignty, Sagnic wrote in Israel-based Jerusalem Post.

Notwithstanding the continuous story of Israeli airstrikes on Iranian-affiliated targets across Syria, another interesting claim emerged in Iraqi media last week that US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo warned the central Iraqi government of potential Israeli airstrikes against Shi’ite militia groups in that country.

Iraqi news outlets alleged that Pompeo made it clear to Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abd al-Mahdi that the US government would refrain from taking action should Israeli missiles start raining on Iranian targets inside Iraq.

Reports that the US was concerned about a possible Israeli aerial campaign against Shi’ite militias in Iraq emerged as the debate on the government’s control over militias continue.

The only known fact within the dramatically complicated political stalemate of Iraq is the notion that the Iraqi government has given up the race to control the militias, and the current picture is about not losing the government toIranian militias entirely.

Israeli thinker Edy Cohen earlier confirmed the news about an imminent Israeli strike on Iranian militias in Iraq.

In several tweets, he mocked Iran's fascist threats issued by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, saying: "protect your troops in Syria at first and then threaten Tel Aviv!."

Two years ago, Israel launched more than 250 raids on Iranian sites in Syria and destroyed 80 Tehran facilities, Cohen said sarcastically.

He addressed the Shiite militias saying: "if I were you, I would join the Iraqi army because the [punishment] day is nearing."

Observers considered Cohen's remarks not only an affirmation of an expected Israeli strike on Iran's militia camps in Iraq, but also an indication that this strike could be launched very soon.

Threatening Israel

Mohammad Ali Jafari, the Iranian IRGC's top commander, denied Iran's intentions to withdraw from Syria, threatening to strike Israel with missiles.

“You should be afraid of the day that our precision-guided missiles roar and fall on your head,” Jafari was quoted as saying by the semi-official ISNA news agency on Wednesday, in a speech full of arrogance.

Jafari said that Iran will keep military forces in Syria. “Iran will keep all its military and revolutionary advisers and its weapons in Syria.”

Jafari called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s threats “a joke” and warned that the Israeli government “was playing with a lion’s tail.”

Israel threats

Seemingly, the leaders of the Shiite militias under IMIS insist on bringing Iraq into chaos, not caring of the role Iraq plays in preserving the security and stability of the Middle East.

Currently, IMIS is a threat not only to Sunnis in Iraq; it has also sent its militias to fight in Syria to protect the Syrian regime and implement the Iranian agenda, which Israel sees as a red flag.

After confirming that Israel bombed an Iranian weapons depot in Syria, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Sunday that the Jewish state will strike even harder if it proves necessary to prevent Iran from gaining a military foothold in Syria.

This means that Israel will probably hit the IMIS militias fighting in Syria as part of the Iranian army there.

Evening 3n1 - couldn't agree more . . . Iraq is chock full and top heavy with leaders and an entire government of arrogant, self important, clueless, blustering & unenlightened fools.

13th Century mindset in a 21st Century world. They have no idea just how deep the pool of "sheet" they're standing in, is.

US troops patrolling Falluja for the first time in two years
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - US forces have been roaming a number of neighborhoods in the city of Fallujah, less than a week after US planes dropped leaflets carrying the three former Iraqi flag over Fallujah and other cities in Anbar, local sources said.
A local source said in a press statement that "an American force wandered Saturday morning in the southern districts of Fallujah, accompanied by an Iraqi security force," noting that "the tour included the neighborhoods of the message and martyrs and Jubail and Nazzal in the southern section of the city."
He pointed out that "the American force entered from the western port of Fallujah where the force of the police, the army, and the popular crowd," pointing out that "this round came to lift the remnants of a supporter of the terrorist, and to support the stability of the city."
This is the first time that American forces have been shown roaming in Falluja since the liberation of the city from the terrorist call two years ago.
Local security sources reported that US planes dropped leaflets in the form of coins and paper clips bearing the flag of the former Iraqi regime, headed by ousted president Saddam Hussein in Anbar province, on Tuesday, pointing out that most of the currency and leaflets were thrown in the densely populated main cities , Al-Ramadi, Anbar Province, Falluja, Haditha, Hit, Rawa, Aana and other areas, explaining that currencies and publications also bore pictures of American science.
This comes at a time when the Iraqi authorities are reserving the news, which talk about the US forces roaming in Iraqi cities.
Baghdad Operations Command denied yesterday the reports of US troops roaming in the Adhamiya area north of the capital

Watching those armored US vehicles drive down the streets of Fallujah got me thinking how wrong are our leaders.  We have US troops patrolling in a country that hates us while our own country is invaded by illegals.  The cost of keeping our military in Iraq has to be in the billions per month.  The cost to House, feed, provide healthcare to the illegals is equally costing our country billions.

If I were President I would tell Iraq to push the RV button and then bring our military home or at the least have Iraq pay us for our protecting their country.  I would then build a Huge Wall in the high risk populated portions of our border and have our troops patrolling the back country. Those few steps would save our country 100’s of billions of dollars.

If if you read history almost every great Empire was degraded by an over extended military( bleeding the Empires finances) and an invasion by immigrants.  Mmmm maybe that’s the plan.

Israeli strikes in Syria could prompt strike on Tel Aviv: Nasrallah

Nasrallah: Terrorist without homeland

The “axis of resistance” of Iran, Syria andHezbollah could respond to Israeli strikes on Iran and Hezbollah in Syria with their own attack on Tel Aviv, Hezbollah’s leader said on Saturday, according to Reuters.

They were deliberating a response to escalating Israeli strikes and could change their approach “at any moment” Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said in an interview with al-Mayadeen TV.

Hezbollah has “for years” been able to enter Israel, the Lebanese group’s leader added on Saturday, responding for the first time to Israel’s discovery of tunnels dug into Israeli territory from Lebanon, according to Reuters.

“Part of our plan in the next war is to enter into Galilee, a part of our plan we are capable of, God willing. The important thing is that we have this capability and we have had it for years,” said Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in an interview with al-Mayadeen TV.

Israel said last month it had discoveredHezbollah “attack tunnels” and the UN Middle East envoy this week confirmed the existence of two of them, which he said constituted a breach of the 2006 truce existing between Israel and Lebanon.

Nasrallah indicated the tunnels had been dug long ago and it was “a surprise” that Israel took so long to locate them, adding that “it is not known” if more tunnels exist.

“One of the tunnels discovered goes back 13 years,” he said, without discussing how old any other tunnels were.

UN Security Council resolution 1701, which ended the 2006 war between Israel and Hezbollah, said both sides must stick to their side of the border and that the group must leave the area around the frontier.

Nasrallah said Hezbollah did not want to drawLebanon into a war with Israel, but added that there was a fear that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu might miscalculate before the Israeli elections in April and do something rash.

Hey Iran, you have no business being in Syria.  You have no business backing Hezbollah in Lebanon. Try reading the Holy Bible,  the part where God says he will never allow Israel to be defeated.  Your jig is up, try peace instead of war.

Evening Pitcher;

I'm no psychic ( but I do stay at Holiday Inn Expresses whenever I can ), there will be an incident that will be the " tipping point " for Iran. What will follow. most definitely will be their downfall.

I don't know when that will be ( sooner rather than later would be a Big Help ). Being a student of history, it's not so difficult to see that countries like Iran with leaders such as they have . . . well, history has a trail stretching thousands of years of countries like Iran that have turned to dust.

Go Tipping Point

Go Downfall

Go Dust

U.S.-Backed Coalition Continues Final Offensive Against Islamic State

OAN Newsroom
2:05 PM PT – Sun. January 27, 2019

A U.S.-led coalition is cracking down on the remnants of the Islamic state in Syria, ahead of the planned troop withdrawal from the country.

According to the Syrian Democratic Forces, the ongoing U.S.-backed offensive is focusing on the last outposts of ISIS on the Syrian-Iraqi border.

FILE – In this Wednesday, April 4, 2018 file photo, a U.S. soldier, left, sits on an armored vehicle behind a sand barrier at a newly installed position near the front line between the U.S-backed Syrian Manbij Military Council and the Turkish-backed fighters, in Manbij, north Syria. An American military official said Friday, Jan. 11, 2019 that the U.S.-led military coalition has begun the process of withdrawing troops from Syria. (AP Photo/Hussein Malla, File)

Officials say ISIS only controls two small villages on the east bank of the Euphrates River.

SDF fighters believe ISIS will lose its last remaining territories over the upcoming weeks.

The ongoing military operation is expected to end the existence of the ISIS caliphate on the ground in Syria.

The Syrian Observatory of Human Rights said at least 42 people–including 13 civilians–were killed in a recent series of airstrikes against the Islamic state.
