"The news that was circulated through the media about arming the Sunni Arab tribes in Iraq, specifically Anbar province, by the United States of America, is a disgraceful story and has no basis," al-Hawait told Mawazine News.
"There are discussions between us and the US side to arm the Sunni Arab tribes in all the provinces, not only Anbar," he said.

Russian newspaper: military supply and security alert large bases America in Iraq

Written by: mohanadat:May 22, 2019

Light News / Baghdad
newspaper "Nezavisimaya" Russian published a report spoke about the deployment of the US Department of Defense Forces on the Iraqi border, according to some Western media reports, Washington sent about 10 thousand troops to Iraq.

The newspaper said in its report that "a US military convoy headed from Jordan to Anbar province in western Iraq and handed over weapons and ammunition to the US air base in the village of Ain Assad."

Meanwhile, some 10,000 US troops stationed in western Iraq have been stationed in bases in the areas of Ain al-Assad and Habbaniyah, according to sources in the local security service of a Lebanese newspaper.

According to the same source, these bases include elements of the US Marines, who were recently transferred from Syria.

The newspaper said that 90 percent of US troops in Iraq rank fighters and not military advisers.

In addition, the US command took more security measures in Anbar province, despite the announcement of the presence of only five thousand troops in Iraq.

For its part, some Arab newspapers reported that US forces had taken Anbar province near the Jordanian and Syrian borders as a result of their lack of confidence in the Iraqi political leadership, which is seeking to force Washington to withdraw its troops from the country.

The newspaper pointed out that Baghdad has proved on many occasions that it is an ally of Tehran. Given the growing conflict between the United States and Iran, the rapprochement has become a concern for Washington.

In March, the United States began building a US military base on the Baghdad-Damascus highway.

Then another US military center appeared on the highway between Baghdad and Amman. According to local media reports, the number of US bases on Iraqi territory is about 15, due to the Pentagon's desire to close all possible lines of communication on the soil of Tehran and Baghdad with Damascus and Beirut.

In a related context, spokesman for the US Central Command, Bill Orban, that all US forces are in a state of great readiness to repel any attack could be carried out by the Iranian armed forces or local Shiite militias that support them.

The newspaper quoted the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which is based in England, that the US command sent about 60 trucks loaded with weapons and ammunition and other military goods to the Syrian Kurdish militias.

Although Washington has not shown any real preparations for a military operation against Tehran, the situation in the region is rapidly worsening.

The newspaper said that the United States does not have enough equipment and means to launch military operations against Iran.

On the other hand, some British sources spoke about the direction of two units of private boat services, dedicated to sabotage activities and the survey of the enemy in the coastal areas, to the Middle East.

In conclusion, the newspaper noted that these units work side by side with the Special Services Air Services, a British special forces aimed at collecting and participating in war operations to achieve security and British interests and thwarting the project that threatens Britain. Its main mission is to protect British merchant ships in the Arabian Gulf , According to some media reports.

BAGHDAD -
The United States is doubling its military presence in Iraq, a Hebrew intelligence website has reported.
The Hebrew news website "Debka" claimed that the US military is increasing its military forces in Iraq, where Washington has doubled the Marines at two military bases in Iraq.
The Israeli website claimed that US forces would be transferred from Jordan to two military bases in Iraq, the Ain al-Assad Air Base in the western Iraqi city of Anbar, which is not far from the Iraqi-Syrian border.
The second American base to be transferred to US Marines is Habbaniyah base, near the Iraqi capital, Baghdad. Adding that US forces will already reach about 10 thousand fighters in the military bases in Iraq.
In the same context, an Israeli website claimed that the United States of America is strengthening its military forces in the Middle East.
The news website "Netscape Net", on Tuesday evening, that the United States of America to strengthen its military presence in Iraq with US troops coming from Jordan.
The Israeli news site that Washington sent more than 60 US military vehicles from Jordan to Iraq, on its way specifically to the city of Anbar, Iraq, which has the largest US military base on the ground in Iraq.
The site said that the Syrian air base in western Iraq will host these new US forces, in order to strengthen and strengthen the US forces as a whole, to counter any Iranian provocations, on the sidelines of verbal skirmishes between the two sides, the US and Iran.
Earlier this week, Washington withdrew its diplomatic staff from its embassy in Baghdad following the weekend attacks on four oil tankers in the Gulf.
The relationship between America and Iran has been strained over the past period, and there seems to be a close war in the region, but the political leaderships of the two countries (Iran and America) have always stressed that they do not want to enter into any war.
The US-Iran crisis saw a dramatic escalation last week after Washington sent the Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier with a number of B-52 bombers to the Gulf before the Patriot missile defense system was deployed in the region.
Relations between Washington and Tehran have become more strained in the wake of Trump's decision this month to try to stop Iran's oil exports altogether and strengthen the US presence in the Gulf in response to what he said were Iranian threats.

Thank You Buti. GM DV's....I cant help but think our increased presence is there to protect Iraq ....And not necessarily to attack Iran . There's an article that states June 30th as the last day for proxy positions. No government effectively after that date ? We look to be planning something pretty huge ?)

BAGHDAD (Reuters)
- Former US House Speaker Mahmoud al-Mashhadani warned Monday that the United States would resort to the "B" speech if the House voted to withdraw its troops from Iraq , noting that the United States was present today in the "Silicon Triangle" Syria and western Iraq , the most expensive material in the world today.
"If the Americans are removed through a law in the Iraqi parliament, they will work with the B plan to topple the regime in Iraq . Therefore, Iraq is still fragile and needs Arab and Islamic culture, " Mashhadani said in an interview with Al-Alam television channel
"The United States is today in the Silicon Triangle in eastern Syria and western Iraq
"The American bases in Iraq are in the triangle" Sunni "hot as it was previously called, the triangle of opposition against the Americans," noting that it is "the most important material in the world now, and therefore will not leave the Americans, As long as they have bases there, they must be assured that the "Sunni" environment around them is not an enemy, and therefore they establish relations here and there and meet with elders and others. "
Iraq is still under the tutelage of the United Nations. We have now emerged from our being a threat to world peace, the seventh item, but we are still under item 6 and others," he said. "We aspire to the day when we are more independent and not exist. And this happens when the entire region sits down and agrees to the truce and the brothers and the development process of all our peoples. " Ending / 25

American Institute specialist: because of Obama and Trump .. Calling from the entity system to "underground"

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The Washington-based Institute for US-based War Studies on Sunday (June 30, 2019) charged former US President Barack Obama and current Donald Trump with the responsibility of turning a hasty organization into an underground organization.

"The slow pace of land reclamation from a terrorist organization during military operations has given the organization time to prepare for a future phase in which it will lose its territory," the institute said in a report.

"The situation of the terrorist organization is more dangerous than it was before. The organization started to carry out terrorist operations in areas it controlled, including imposing taxes on citizens and assassinating local commanders who cooperated with Iraqi forces during the war," the report said.

"He urged the withdrawal of its members and their families to vast areas extending over what was previously controlled between Iraq and Syria and appeared to wage a very serious guerrilla war," stressing that "the organization has maintained substantial funding through its financial network, which helped turn it back into an organization under Land ".

"The organization has retained a large part of its weapons and equipment in the underground caches that it has built in its former areas of control," the report said.

"The organization launched a new wave of terrorist attacks, especially as the organization receives substantial resources from the areas it controls outside of Iraq and Syria to the point of giving the organization new momentum," the report warned.

"The responsibility for the success of the organization in transforming from entity to underground organization to the US administration to Barack Obama and Trump because of the slow land reclamation of those who called during the military operations has given the organization sufficient time to prepare for a future phase in which it is losing its territory," the report said.

"We hope the professional media take the information from the security media cell because it is the official and sole authority authorized to publish the official security story, and leave the sources that embarrass the news agencies and put their credibility with the audience, to get the former at the expense of accuracy and credibility."

Suron: There is no law to remove US troops from Iraq

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The deputy of the Riyadh-Masoudi al-Sadiq coalition on Monday accused the three presidencies of failing to legislate the US forces' law from Iraq, indicating that the parliament's presidency should attempt to discuss the removal of US forces in parliament.

"There is no law or drafting of a project to remove US forces from Iraq at all, and what is being discussed is the subject of a parliamentary debate in the parliament," Massoudi told local media.

"The three presidencies are responsible for the legal drafting of the law to remove US forces, otherwise they will not do it because of pressure," Masoudi said.

He explained that "the presidency of the parliament should all attempts to discuss the removal of foreign forces by the deputies and prevented any attempt to formulate such a law," noting that "the government handed the parliament a report on the US presence and the number of foreign troops present."

BAGHDAD -
The US Chief of Staff, General Joseph Danford, said his country needs to train 50,000 to 60,000 local troops to control security in northern Syria.
Responding to questions posed to him at a symposium organized by the Council on Foreign Relations, particularly the Syrian issue, Danford pointed to the "retreat of the Islamic State terrorist organization," but added that "the organization still maintains an important presence in Iraq and Syria."
He expressed concern about "the organization's tactics of guerrilla warfare, the refugee crisis, and ISIS detainees held by the SDF."
Danford also stressed "the need to support the Syrian Democratic Forces (led by the YPG), in order to combat the remnants of the terrorist organization Daesh."
The US Chief of Staff stressed the importance of establishing security in areas cleared of ISIS operatives.
"So we have a lot to do, and we estimate that 50,000 to 60,000 local forces should be trained to control security in this area (northern Syria), and we have probably trained half that number so far," he said.

A Half-Decade Late, NY Post Admits ISIS Is Run By NATO Member Turkey

Profile picture for user Tyler Durden
Mon, 09/23/2019 - 12:25

It's that time once again: over the weekend Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan for perhaps the twentieth time warned his army is making preparations to act on its southern border with Syria, saying it will take unilateral steps to create a "safe zone" amid accusations the US is dragging its feet implementing agreements to push Syrian Kurdish forces from the border.

This as yet another 'conspiracy theory' gets belatedly confirmed as conspiracy fact by the mainstream. The New York Post asks "Why isn’t the media covering Turkish President Erdogan’s ties to ISIS?" — well, it's at least been endlessly reported here and other places for about the past half decade. Better late than never, we suppose. The report details:

The evidence of Erdogan’s direct, personal and institutional support for ISIS and related jihadi groups is so extensive, the wonder is why the American media is not paying more attention to it.

erdoganisis1.jpg

The report doesn't merely stop at saying NATO-member Turkey had an indirect or remote relationship with ISIS, but points out that Turkish intelligence service (MIT) while under the immediate oversight of Erdogan has been directly weaponizing and funding the terror group

Barely surveying the tip of the iceberg in terms of the total mountain of evidence to have emerged over the years, the NY Post asserts:

It’s Erdogan’s commitment to global jihad, and specifically, to ISIS terrorists. Since 2012, the Turkish intelligence service, MIT, under Erdogan’s direction, has been providing resources and material assistance to ISIS, while Turkish Customs officials turned a blind eye to ISIS recruits flowing across Turkey’s borders into Syria and Iraq.

Scores of ISIS fighters captured by pro-U.S. Kurdish forces in northern Syria showed Turkish exit stamps on their passports, and otherwise boasted of the direct assistance they had received from Turkish authorities.

The report further cites a recently captured ISIS fighter, who told his Kurdish captors, “Turkish intelligence knows everything.”

Interestingly, then Vice President Joe Biden as early as 2014 in a Harvard address identified "our allies" and "our great friends"  among them Turkey, UAE, and Saudi Arabia  as being behind the rise of ISIS (of course, he stopped short of naming the United States, despite previously acknowledging the US worked "hand in glove" with these very countries in the Syrian war).

"Turkey admitted it had let too many foreign fighters cross its border into Syria," Biden explained at the time, as paraphrased by the BBC"We could not convince our colleagues to stop supplying them," Biden confessed, in what constituted America's #2 most powerful leader admitting the US' own role in fueling the rise of ISIS to topple Assad.

Biden's astounding 2014 admissions, the televised footage of which was easily available, were essentially buried by the mainstream media, which only commented on his later being forced to apologize for the frank and blunt remarks. The footage itself didn't air on any major network and is still by and large unknown to broader American public.

And now five years after this and other evidence has been readily available, the NY Post documents that

Turkey’s assistance to ISIS starts right at the top.

In 2016, Wikileaks published an archive of 58,000 emails documenting the involvement of Erdogan’s son-in-law, Berat Albayrak, in helping ISIS market oil stolen from Syria and Iraq.

And more recently, many ISIS terrorists have simply donned a new uniform and joined Turkish-backed 'rebel' groups, to as the Post notes, to engage in "ethnic cleansing" of Syrian Kurds

And yet after all this it remains that Erdogan's Turkey is still a key member of NATO, American forces still work closely with the very military and intelligence services backing ISIS, and US troops still operate out of key Turkish bases like Incirlik air base.

Why isn’t the media covering Turkish President Erdogan’s ties to ISIS

September 21, 2019 | 2:32pm

Recep Tayyip Erdogan
Recep Tayyip ErdoganAnadolu Agency via Getty Images

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has pitched his tent at New York’s glitzy Peninsula Hotel this week, where he will be dining (but not wining) American Muslim leaders on the sidelines of UN meetings.

During his 2017 New York visit, Erdogan met with then-freshman U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN). This past July, state-run media chiefs called on Turks around the world to donate to her re-election campaign, which is illegal if they are not U.S. citizens or green-card holders.

But what should disturb Americans most about Erdogan is not his efforts to influence Congress, his abysmal record as a jailer of journalists, his genocidal war against the Kurds, or even the $100 million mosque he has constructed in Lanham, Maryland.

“Turkish intelligence knows everything,” one captured ISIS fighter told his Kurdish captors recently.

Many former ISIS fighters have now joined the Turkish-backed forces that have occupied the Syrian Kurdish city of Afrin, where they have engaged in ethnic cleansing.

Two Turkish intelligence officers, captured by Kurdish guerilla fighters in northern Iraq in 2017, provided insider accounts of Turkish government assistance to ISIS and other jihadi groups operating in Syria and Iraq.

Turkey’s assistance to ISIS starts right at the top. In 2016, Wikileaks published an archive of 58,000 emails documenting the involvement of Erdogan’s son-in-law, Berat Albayrak, in helping ISIS market oil stolen from Syria and Iraq.

Until the publication of the emails, Albayrak had denied any involvement in the illicit oil trade.

Sümeyye Erdogan, daughter of the Turkish president, reportedly set up an entire medical corps, including a hospital to treat wounded ISIS fighters in Sanlurfa, a city in Southeastern Turkey close to the Syrian border.

ISIS evacuated severely wounded fighters across the border into Sanliurfa in Turkish army trucks without undergoing Customs inspection.

The evidence of Erdogan’s direct, personal and institutional support for ISIS and related jihadi groups is so extensive, the wonder is why the American media is not paying more attention to it.

This week a new group, the Turkey-ISIS Research Project, is sponsoring bus-billboards to roam the Big Apple. The message is clear: “Erdogan, the Godfather of Jihadist Terrorists, is Not Welcome in the United States.”

US President vows to destroy Turkey's economy

US President Donald Trump has vowed to “destroy” Turkey's economy if it takes any “off-limits” move in Syria. `` As I have strongly affirmed earlier, and only for renewal, I will destroy and destroy the Turkish economy (as I have done before) if Turkey does anything I will consider, judging by my great wisdom, '' Trump said in two tweets posted on his official Twitter account on Monday. Which is unparalleled, transcending borders. ”

ANKARA: The Turkish military, together with the Free Syrian Army, will cross the Syrian border "shortly", President Tayyip Erdogan’s communications director said early on Wednesday, as Ankara starts a military incursion in the region.
In a tweet, Fahrettin Altun said that Kurdish militants there could either defect or Ankara would have to "stop them from disrupting" Turkey's struggle against the Daesh militants.
On Tuesday, Turkey's military struck the Syrian-Iraqi border to prevent Kurdish forces using the route to reinforce northeast Syria, Turkish officials told Reuters.

Turning a blind eye to Ankara’s offensive in the region ‘might play into the Kremlin’s hands’

ANKARA: Amid a gradual withdrawal of American troops from the Turkish-Syrian border, and tensions between the Turkish military and US-allied Syrian-Kurdish fighters, Moscow’s role is a matter of debate. Russia, a major player in Syria, supports President Bashar Assad’s regime, while Turkey supports rebels opposed to him.
Although the Kremlin says Turkey has the right to defend itself, its spokesman Dmitry Peskov reiterated on Monday that Syria’s territorial integrity should be preserved and that all foreign troops “with an illegal presence” must leave the country.
If US troops fully withdraw from northeast Syria, Russia will likely support attempts by the Assad regime to regain control of parts of the region that are not seized by Turkey.
Some experts say Turkey’s threatened military operation against Syrian Kurds may pave the way for a Russian-brokered deal between Damascus, Turkey and the Kurds.
“President Vladimir Putin clearly expressed several times that Russia understands Turkish security concerns in northeast Syria, thus Moscow isn’t against Ankara’s plans to create a buffer zone,” Alexey Khlebnikov, an expert at the Russian International Affairs Council, told Arab News. Khlebnikov said Moscow might expect that this situation could make Syrian Kurds more amenable to talks with Damascus. He added that the situation in northeast Syria should be viewed together with the issue of Idlib province in the northwest.
Russia and Turkey are co-guarantors of the “de-escalation zone” in Idlib, where the withdrawal of extremist organizations has still not been fully achieved.

“It seems there’s a certain agreement between Putin and (Turkish President Recep Tayyip) Erdogan that envisages a sort of swap: Damascus and Russia get a bigger part of Idlib … in exchange for not objecting to a Turkish operation in northeast Syria,” Khlebnikov said. “This way, Russian-Turkish cooperation on Syria isn’t threatened.”
Khlebnikov added that Russia can be a broker between Syrian Kurds and Damascus, and between Damascus and Ankara.

Full Turkish Assault On NE Syria Coming "Next 24 Hours" As Kurds Make Late Night Appeal

The Washington Post reports that the expected major Turkish military incursion into northeast Syria which set off a firestorm early this week after the White House appeared to give the green light in a Sunday night statement will commence in the next 24 hours.

"There are indications that it is coming in the next 24 hours. Most likely at Tal Abyad and Ras al-Ain, according to press reports and the Turkish build up," the Post's Liz Sly stated, citing a prior report. This after Turkish warplanes had already conducted limited bombing of select Kurdish supply routes along the Syria-Iraq border. Turkey has confirmed the reports, via Reuters:

The Turkish military, together with the Free Syrian Army, will cross the Syrian border "shortly", President Tayyip Erdogan's communications director said early on Wednesday, as Ankara starts a military incursion in the region.

Separately, Foreign Policy is reporting "U.S. and Kurdish officials expect Turkey to launch a military operation within 24 hours as Trump tries to backpedal."

That so-called backpedaling includes Trump tweeting Tuesday, "We may be in the process of leaving Syria, but in no way have we Abandoned the Kurds, who are special people and wonderful fighters." He reiterated that "any unforced or unnecessary fighting by Turkey will be devastating to their economy and to their very fragile currency."

"We are helping the Kurds financially/weapons!" he added, while senior officials also sought to reassure the press that there was no pending major US withdrawal from Syria, but only that some special forces troops were moved back from the border with Turkey.

Turkey appears to have rejected Trump's threats, with Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay asserting Tuesday, "Where Turkey's security is concerned, we determine our own path, but we set our own limits." He also vowed to clear the region of "terrorists" and establish Erdogan's so-called 'safe zone'.

Meanwhile, the US-backed and Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF)  who stand ready to face imminent Turkish air power while themselves not having airplanes, but only previously US air support which will not be utilized against the invading Turks — issued a last ditch appeal to the world overnight Tuesday to stave off the Turkish attack

The border areas are "on the edge of a possible humanitarian catastrophe," the SDF statement said"This attack will spill the blood of thousands of innocent civilians because our border areas are overcrowded."

The statement ended with a call for external powers to avoid the "impending humanitarian distaster" by stepping up with their responsibilities, in what appears a clear desperate appeal to the United States and its allies.
