news from Warka about wire transfers

latest news I got today from Mr I is that the Warka and other private banks in Iraq only have corresponding banks in the middle east, ie Jordan, UAE, Lebanon, Turkey, and they will not make 3rd party payments. The CBI is aware of this problem and everyone is working to resolve it.

So no wire transfers available,,,

So, Warka Bank is happy to accept transfers from my bank... but doesn't do the same in reverse. CBI must have some law against private banks hijacking deposits from customers. How on earth are private banks able to attract investment in Iraq under these conditions?

I used to wire money in and out before they went into guardianship but have no idea if they have done transfers since then. Nor what happened with the other corresponding banks they used way back then. Maybe have to re-establish banking relations after all these years?

 

If I get more news I'll post it. Hopefully one day soon we'll get our money again...

you are welcome. When I get something new I will post it here  Hopefully the next news will be that the Warka Mastercard is available again or the problem with the corresponding banks has been fixed. Also waiting to hear when their General Assembly meeting is...

I haven't seen anything on the ISX page or any brokers page with the Warka Shares information. I contacted Al Karmal and they said they had not heard anything but would keep me posted.

I did see that Warka posted the announcement on their own Facebook page.
