During the next few days, the Iraqi and Kuwaiti ministries of electricity will be extending the power transmission towers between the two countries for a distance of 50 kilometers to provide Iraq with more than 200 megawatts as a first stage. 
This comes at a time when Iran will continue to supply the country with 1,200 MW on four connecting lines between the two countries. 
"The ministry signed a memorandum of understanding with the Kuwaiti side during a visit by a Kuwaiti delegation to the province of Basra," said the spokesman of the Ministry of Electricity, Musab al-Mudarab, adding that the agreement provides for importing electrical energy from the State of Kuwait. 
The teacher pointed out that the next short period will witness the extension of the towers of the transfer of energy for a distance of 50 kilometers to connect with the national electricity system, likely to be imported more than 200 megawatts.
He added that the ministry continues to import energy from Iran by four lines, and Iraq is equipped with a capacity of up to 1200 MW, noting that the possibility of importing energy from the Saudi side is currently unavailable because there are no towers for the transfer of energy between the two countries and spacing distances, especially as the ministry is considering finding immediate solutions The project of linking with Saudi Arabia is possible in the long term.

The Ministry of Electricity, Iraq will begin the first phase of the process of linking electric power with the Gulf States through the State of Kuwait, noting that the link between Iraq and Syria will begin to activate during the coming period.

The spokesman for the Ministry of Electricity, Musab al-Mudar, told "Economy News" that "Iraq will begin work soon the first phase of linking energy between him and the Gulf states through the State of Kuwait," noting that "this project will lead to the stability of electricity in Iraq."

He added that "Iraq will sign the agreement with Kuwait in the coming days," noting that "the line of pressure between Iraq and Syria destroyed by the organization is calling in 2014 after reaching its final stages, but two months ago signed a contract with Syria for rehabilitation.

He pointed out that "Iraq's benefit from the project of linking with neighboring countries will be up to 300 MW, especially that we have not talked so far with funds."

 Those Billions of $$$$ are in off shore bank accounts that numerous politicians keep symphoning off. Just a guess, but if not, where’s the $$$$ is my question.
