President of the House of Representatives Mohammad Halbusi said on Thursday that Iraq and Kuwait have a great opportunity to develop relations and economic cooperation between the two countries.

Iraq received 2.8 million dollars in grants from Malaysia, Germany and the Czech Republic to support the reconstruction of liberated areas, according to a document issued by the Ministry of Finance.

"Germany gave Iraq 2 million euros ($ 2.24 million) on October 18, 2018, and was allocated to the Directorate of Medical Affairs of the Ministry of Defense," the document obtained by the Economist News said.

"Malaysia has allocated $ 100,000 on Dec. 18 and is earmarked for the Reconstruction Fund for liberated areas," she said.

"The Czech gave Iraq $ 450,000 to the Reconstruction Fund for liberated areas on June 18," she said.

These grants came through the Iraq Reconstruction Conference held in the State of Kuwait in 2018.

He also revealed the "decision of the Council of Ministers to establish two international credit funds to manage the file of international support for projects and programs of recovery and reconstruction and development, in implementation of the decisions of the Kuwait International Conference for the reconstruction of Iraq, held last year." 
Al-Dulaimi stressed that "the next phase will witness the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the World Bank, will be a legal framework for its work in Iraq, pointing out that the Fund for recovery and reconstruction of Iraq will enhance the effectiveness of funding, through the joint administration between the Ministry and the international community, Planning "

Planning Minister Nouri Sabah al-Dulaimi on Tuesday confirmed the goals of the national platform for reconstruction and development in Iraq, stressing that it will include a special portal for activities and projects to reduce poverty in the country. 
"The announcement of the National Platform for Reconstruction and Development in Iraq represents an important step and an advanced achievement that the Ministry of Planning has achieved in the light of the commitments of Iraq and the international community to the outcomes of the Kuwait Conference of donors from international commitments," Dulaimi said in a statement. 
"The purpose of this platform, which will be managed by the Ministry of Planning, is to manage and follow up the projects of reconstruction, stability and development through the construction of an integrated spatial database containing information and sites of projects implemented or planned by the Iraqi government or the international community.
"The platform also contains analytical outputs, final table reports and statistical tables for project data, and provides a window for community interaction and an interactive map interface to display project sites in general." 
Al-Dulaimi pointed out that "the National Platform for Reconstruction and Development will provide an advanced level of transparency, by providing opportunities for donors to be acquainted with the permanent paths of grants and loans and the implementation of projects and the amount of funds allocated and the percentage of completion of each project," noting that " Especially for activities and projects to reduce poverty in Iraq, and another portal for the provinces and details of the projects carried out.
He called on the Minister of Planning concerned and concerned with the affairs of reconstruction and development at the national and international levels to follow up the platform included data and details of important projects, "noting that" the establishment of this platform was the result of concerted efforts of the departments and formations of the Ministry of Planning and the support of international partners. Minister of Planning, Nuri al-Dulaimi, announced the establishment of two international trust funds to manage the international support file for the projects and programs of recovery, reconstruction and development in the country.
"Dulaimi presided over the first meeting of the Executive Committee for Recovery, Reconstruction and Development in Iraq, in the presence of the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers, the President of the Reconstruction Fund, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, the Representative of the UN Secretary General, the Ambassador of the European Union and the World Bank," the ministry said in a statement.
"The Iraq Recovery and Reconstruction Fund is working to improve the effectiveness of funding for reconstruction and recovery efforts by the government and international partners," Dulaimi said, adding that "the Ministry of Planning provided the World Bank mission in Iraq with a list of projects proposed by the World Bank" .

Millions is very miniscule of an amount to grant/fund these projects. Wait till Iraq increases the iqd rate...We may see billions pouring in for the granting of these projects
