The economic expert, Majid al-Suri, on Monday, that Mosul needs more than the amounts allocated for reconstruction at the Kuwait conference, indicating that the high oil prices will contribute to the provision of funds necessary over the past years to rebuild the city.

"The money obtained from the Kuwait conference to reconstruct the destroyed areas in Iraq, most notably Mosul, will not be enough to revive the affected areas of Mosul, Anbar and some other areas," Al-Soury said in a statement. Financial grants for reconstruction, which will cost more debt to Iraq and must be paid from oil imports. "

He added that "the stability of oil prices at more than $ 70 per barrel, will contribute to the reconstruction of these areas and the payment of Iraq's debt, in addition to providing job opportunities for the thousands of unemployed in Iraq through the reconstruction work that attract young people."

The picture that "the reconstruction process can not take place overnight, but needs years, especially since the funds allocated to him at the Kuwait conference has not yet received Baghdad, and therefore the oil imports can be used in the reconstruction of the devastated areas and the payment of Iraq's debts" . Ending / 25 n

OK. For an expanded meeting to occur on "the level of progress and response to this aspect" seems to infer construction projects and reconstruction are ALREADY underway in Iraq.

Other than The United States Of America, France is the ONLY other country that has a signed and yet to be implemented Strategic Framework Agreement (SFA). So, I suspect the French want to get going like a lot of other countries on the reconstruction, economic development, AND foreign investment in Iraq. August is three months from now so we may be in a prime time for our long anticipated event so that measurable progress is occurring with reconstruction, economic development, AND foreign investment in Iraq at the August "expanded meeting"!!!

In addition to the resolutions of the Kuwait Conference , a number of investors from all over the world gathered in Baghdad to present their investment projects for the reconstruction of Iraq under the umbrella of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers .

Creating a fertile environment for investors and enacting legislation that would facilitate the routine procedures that hinder the work of investors in the country, the most prominent of what was made by the President of the Baghdad Provincial Council to proceed with the reconstruction of the affected areas.

"We must prepare an investment map, what is the geography of investment in Iraq and what priorities we need, we need to rebuild the infrastructure, especially in the areas where the income is urgent," said Riyadh al-Adadh, head of the Baghdad Provincial Council. (Spoken words)

The Iraqi government is keen to increase investment opportunities in the country to rebuild the affected areas by providing an environment conducive to them, represented by the security situation and remove abuses that hinder the work of investors.

Thank You, MyLilPony, AND The Best Of Your Evening To You!!! :tiphat:

I had been keeping an eye out over the last 2 - 3 years for news of a Strategic Framework Agreement with Great Britain and I do not remember seeing one. An SFA with Great Britain would only make sense to me but I did not see one noted. Do You happen to know if the same term (SFA) is used with Great Britain? I suspect having SFAs in place with major economies would facilitate the best reconstruction, construction, economic development, and foreign investment in a very profitable way for Iraq and others who have SFAs with Iraq. To me, seeing an announcement of one or more of these SFAs being implemented would potentially signal an imminent Iraqi Dinar going international with an actual and not programmed value.

Other than The United States Of American, Great Britain, and France, are You also aware of any other countries that have SFAs (or similar agreements) with Iraq?

well from what i  have seen they arent really called sfa's, but they are laws with those countries that you mentioned and also with japan too. I think the u.s. had there's as an sfa because ours was done so early in the process. You will note that the countries that have these laws are also the coalition countries that fought with us in iraq. That is why you can only buy dinar in countries that were part of our coalition.  Each country's law is  based on what they can provide, and are not the same as laws that they have with iran per say.  I think what we need to keep following is the countries that visit and discuss the actual reconstruction with iraq, those are the give aways. ;)
