President Fuad Masoum arrived in Kuwait on Monday for a one-day official visit. 

Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait, was at the head of the future of the President of the Republic, where he received an official reception at the Amiri Airport, during which he played the national anthems of the Republic of Iraq and the State of Kuwait. 

The statement said that the visit comes at the invitation of Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, in the framework of strengthening relations between the two brotherly countries. 

 Masoum headed a high-level delegation including interior minister Qassim al-Araji, transport minister Kazem Fangan al-Hamami, health minister Adela Hamoud, head of investment Sami al-Araji and a number of government officials.

President of the Republic Fuad Masum and his accompanying delegation held talks with the Amir of Kuwait Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah at Bayan Palace on Sunday afternoon and in the presence of Crown Prince Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

Deputy Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah said that the talks dealt with reviewing the bilateral relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples and means of enhancing them in all fields to achieve their aspirations and expand cooperation frameworks between Kuwait and Iraq to serve their common interests. 

"The talks were cordial and cordial in contrast to the brotherly spirit of the relationship and the mutual desire for greater cooperation and coordination at all levels," he added. 

The Emir of Kuwait held at Bayan Palace this afternoon a luncheon in honor of President Fuad Masum and the accompanying official delegation on the occasion of his official visit to the country.

Hammami: Next month will see the return of Kuwaiti aircraft to land at Iraqi airports

 

Minister of State for Housing Affairs, Minister of State for Housing Affairs, Yasser Hassan Abel met on the sidelines of the Iraqi delegation's visit to Kuwait headed by President Fuad Masum.

Several issues of mutual interest and future projects between the two countries were discussed in relation to the transport sector.

Al-Hamami expressed his thanks and gratitude for the warm reception and great understanding of the Kuwaiti side of the stage that Iraq is going through, announcing after the meeting with the Kuwaiti minister the return of the Kuwaiti planes to land at Iraqi airports in mid-next month.

For his part, the Kuwaiti minister said, "Kuwait stands with the people and government with Iraq in the reconstruction, blessing the great victories of criminal gangs."

President of the Republic Fuad Masum said on Monday that he discussed with the Kuwaiti side the file of compensation, Khawr Abdullah and the water borders.

In a press conference held after his meeting with Kuwait's Amir Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Masoum said that he discussed with the Kuwaiti side the issue of compensation, Khawr Abdullah and the water borders.

On the situation in the Gulf, the siege on Qatar, and the meeting of Arab foreign ministers to discuss the issue of Iranian interventions in the region and the possibility of responding militarily, he stressed that "Iraq with the unity of the Gulf and this is in his interest," stressing that "Iraq will not be part of any fighting against Islamic Republic of Iran ".

As for the Syrian security and political situation, the President of the Republic said that "the security of Iraq from the security of Syria and vice versa," expressing "his refusal to change Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, because it is illogical."

I don’t believe they “officially” allow alcohol in Kuwait. I’d be willing to bet the elite liberally indulge on a daily basis, though..

From time to time in the local news you'll read of a Police raid where " women of questionable integrity " and an "undetermined number of Men and alcohol " were present at the time of the Raid.

Yep! That’s how they roll. My sister and her husband lived there for 10 years while he worked as a civil engineer. I visited for a month when they were there, couldn’t wait to get back home again ..

Yep - it's right up there on my " Top 10 Dumps of I've Visited or Worked in Around the World "  . . . There's a couple of countries in Africa that also come to mind. I won't mention them in deference to not wishing to hurt anyones feeling in here, as we may have folks who come from or still have family there.

 

Best to leave it there, with the exception to say; most African Countries records on Civil Rights are Abysmal. . . picking up what I'm laying down HCR ?  Good.

President Fuad Masum discussed at the Bayan Palace in Kuwait Monday morning the Emir of Kuwait Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to develop them.

"They stressed the importance of fraternal relations between Iraq and Kuwait and the need to strengthen them to serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples," a presidential statement said. 
The two sides also stressed "the need to resolve all outstanding issues and differences and overcome them and start a new phase of fruitful and constructive relations." 
President Masoum expressed "deep thanks to the Emir of Kuwait for the generous invitation, stressing the importance of extending bridges of communication and cooperation between the two countries, especially as Iraq has emerged victorious over terrorism and able to aggressively and challenge the Iraqis and support friends in the world.

He also met with Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim and expressed Kuwait's gratitude to Kuwait for their hospitality and warm hospitality, pointing out the depth of the historical relations between the two brotherly countries. 
The President also praised Kuwait's support for Iraq, especially in its war against terrorism, stressing Iraq's desire to develop its relations with Kuwait in all fields and to resolve the outstanding issues between the two countries.
