The starting line for the next stage economy

It seems that Mr. Abadi during his years as prime minister did not succeed on the military level of liberating more than 174 thousand km 2 of the control of the gangs, "calling" terrorist, but also succeeded in creating a future economic vision for Iraq and if not clear the parameters of its application on the ground .
The first steps are to support a private sector capable of being a reliable partner of the state in taking over the tasks of making financial outlets to help the oil revenues, which burdened the state with armies of employees waiting for the monthly salary without attention to the quality and quantity of individual production was one of the most important steps of the government.
In addition to setting the first line of initiative to combat corruption, which negatively affected the structure of governmental and even non-governmental institutions, which caused the disruption of production speed and the decline of GDP and national output to high levels.
The issue of putting an economic strategy under conditions like the one Iraq has lived in is a fantasy in light of the huge financial volumes that went as a cost to the war on "dashing". In addition to the reluctance of foreign capital to enter Iraq because of the security situation during the last four years, it makes its success as tangible as it has achieved. It is necessary to stand and study it objectively
and clearly.
But the first and most important lesson can be deduced from all this experience is that the cabins Abadi succeeded in loading the next government a great task to complete this success and crowned after the great success globally by liberating the land through another success is to attract investment companies and Arab and Iraqi capital expatriate to race to work in
Iraq.
This will not happen without moving forward the issue of fighting corruption, which all observers and those close to the Iraqi institutional system that it will be a war of no less important or useful to fight the gangs and urging the terrorist and restore the lost Iraqi funds and put the right person in the
right place
Hence the great challenge facing the next government, which requires constant and continuous work to begin Iraq's process of construction and reconstruction real and actual, which changes the shape of the national economy and make Iraq takes its real place among the economies of the world with its natural and human resources and geographical location on the
world map  .

Hopefully someone can finally help them do something about Maliki and the Barzani’s. For any Barzani to be incharge of any commission looking for corruption in Kurdistan is bizarre. That’s like putting cat in charge of the mice....

The Integrity Commission said in a statement issued by Al-Mada that "extraordinary efforts have been made by the Commission over several years in preparing and processing the files related to the recovery of the Sudanese convict, including the decisions of the sentences against him, the majority of which received the decisive degree."
The body pointed out that "the convict is wanted for the Iraqi judiciary in 9 cases and was sentenced to eight absentee sentences of imprisonment and severe imprisonment, against the background of deliberate damage to public money."
A government official told Agence France-Presse that "the former minister of trade arrived at Baghdad airport after receiving him from Interpol."
A source close to the government said that "the first official with the rank of minister comes hidden with an Iraqi officer and a detachment of international police."
"It is the first time that Interpol has responded to a government request at this level," he said.
This cooperation opens a new beginning after the meeting of Prime Minister Haider Abadi in Davos, INTERPOL President Gurgen Stoke.
"During the meeting, they discussed cooperation with Iraq to pursue organized crime and terrorism and those involved in corruption issues," the ministry said in a statement.
"INTERPOL's cooperation with Iraq in this area and it will soon visit Iraq to cooperate more closely with INTERPOL and Iraq," Stoke said.
The Sudanese authorities arrested al-Sudani at Beirut International Airport on the background of an arrest warrant issued by the International Police in September last year.
The Iraqi courts in 2012 sentenced in absentia to 7 years in jail for the Sudanese for administrative and financial corruption cases.
Al-Sudani was elected a member of the Iraqi National Assembly in 2005 in which Jaafari's government emerged.
Al-Sudani was chosen as minister of education in the government of Ibrahim al-Jaafari, and after the 2005 elections, al-Sudani was also elected to the position of minister of trade.
He took office in June 2006 with the formation of a new government headed by Maliki. He resigned in 2009 after being arrested at Baghdad airport while trying to leave the country, but was able to leave the country after being released on bail.
Al-Sudani's brothers were also arrested on charges of involvement in the cases in which the Sudanese minister was charged.

A judge within Iraq's Integrity Commission, the country's top body assigned to fighting corruption, said on Thursday major graft cases that the body was planning to open will be delayed. They will be opened after the elections.

This came amid previous promises made by the Iraqi prime minister Haider al-Abadi that he would unleash a merciless war on corruption and refer those involved in it to the judiciary.

These major corruption cases, according to the judge, include files relating to the ministry of electricity, an arms deal with Russia, Iranian schools and complexes in Karbala and Basra.

The files also include the food stamps given to citizens on a monthly basis, dollar bidding in the central bank, and smuggling the Iraqi oil abroad to Lebanon, Iran and Turkey.

Corrupt parties

The judge said over 80 percent of the perpetrators are affiliated with Shiite parties. This comes amid continued deliberations between Abadi's bloc, known as Victory of Iraq, and the other political forces to form a wide coalition to attain majority in the coming elections.

According to official tallies, Iraq has lost about $ 450 billion due to corruption under the governments of Nouri al-Maliki and Haider al-Abadi, both affiliated with the Shiite Da'wa party.

Also, poverty and unemployment ran through the country, hitting bottom-line in an oil-rich nation.  He also noted the commission managed to prevent squandering more than 800 billion Iraqi dinars, $ 680 million.

But the judge asserted there are files that cannot be opened by the Commission, especially those relating to Maliki and heads of some parties.

Colossal cases

According to the judge, the value of the minor corruption cases investigated in 2017 are equivalent to a one major case.

"There are fishy arms deals with Iran, where Iraq purchased jets," the judge said, noting most of the corrupt officials are affiliated with the religious parties.

"For example, there is an Iraqi official who once resided in a leased house established on an area of 150 meters. Now, he owns a commercial complex, a luxurious house in Kazimiya north of Baghdad, a 4-hectare orchard and other properties in Baghdad, Babel and Karbala," the official recalls.

He accused the parliament of procrastinating the anti-corruption push by not issuing a law expanding the powers of the Integrity Commission.

"It is a travesty. Lawmakers themselves, who are supposedly issue legislation to fight corruption, are engaged in these cases." He noted.

On his part, lawmaker Joseph Saliwa said the Islamic parties are taking religion as a guise for their crimes.

"Those affiliated with these parties have always claimed that those working within the ranks of the civilian and secular parties are decadent and causing decadence to spread within the Iraqi society. But we have found nowadays that they who are decadent and protect those are decadent," the lawmaker stated.

He also added Shiite parties' affiliates run drugs, illegally take up arms to butcher people on sectarian grounds, and seize their homes. They are also loyal to foreign meddlers. Saliwa went on to add these parties should reconsider their plans, platforms and loyalties. They are in tatters.

"They are not Islamists. They are nothing but gangs that have accustomed to devouring the resources of the Iraqis."
