This plan sounds very promising and desperately needed. Too many parasites sucking the blood out of Iraq’s economy.

I personally do not believe that the CBI will pull the trigger on the RV until they believe the GOI has better control of the corruption. I was concerned that Mahdi was not the right man for PM but it seems that maybe, just maybe, he is going to be ok. Jury still out, but I’m liking many things I’m reading.

Abadi had so much heaped on him when he became PM after Maliki and ISIS,  that there was no way he could accomplish everything that was needed. Another factor, imo, is that some of Maliki loyalist and other awful people have been filtered out of Parliament. That is my hope anyway. Time will tell. 🤔

I don’t think That Iraq will ever eliminate corruption nor will any government in the world. It’s only the careless that get caught...

BAGHDAD -
The cultural department of the Iraqi embassy in the Iranian capital Tehran on Friday issued a statement accusing it of passing a forged document under pressure from former prime minister Haidar al-Abadi.
The Cultural Department said in a statement received by Mawazin News, a copy of which: "An Internet site reported an anonymous article by the writer of the abuse and insulting of the Iraqi cultural circle in Tehran, and to the person of the Iraqi cultural adviser Yasser Al-Hajjaj, the author claimed that the lie that the pilgrims passed a document Forged without formalities or formal procedures and without the authorization of the Iranian Foreign Ministry. "
The author of the article claimed that the pilgrims had a close friendship with the owner of the certificate (allegedly falsified) and under pressure from the office of former Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi. He also claimed that the document he attached with his article indicates that " In Tehran and the Iraqi Ministry of Education have been completed) and signed in just one day. "
He stressed that "the cultural circle is a government agency linked to the Iraqi Embassy in Tehran and can not communicate or send any official books except through the Iraqi Embassy exclusively," noting that "Anyone who has a simple knowledge of the work of the Cultural Department is fully aware that we do not support or We stop or issue any academic certificate; our mission is limited to receiving documents from the Iraqi government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Iraqi Embassy and then sent by an official letter to the Iranian Foreign Ministry. "
The statement continued: "Then the answer is returned from the Iranian Foreign Ministry to the Iraqi Foreign Ministry with all the priorities without expressing opinion or diligence, our task is limited to that, and the Iranian Foreign Ministry is the answer to the denial or proof and we have no right to address any Iranian entity in this regard," he continued: To transmit books issued by Iran to Iraq and not support or non-validation of the issuance of the document. "
"The Cultural Department has an electronic system that works professionally and can not be penetrated in any way," he said. "By returning to the author of the article, who falsely claimed that the pilgrims had passed a forged document without first names, refuted by the book he protested, Where the same book stated that the Cultural Service was based on the book of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, where is the forged document passed by the pilgrims.
He also said that the book was issued in one day of the bazaar of Iraqi education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran and the cultural attaché, which is also refuted in the same book, which was quoted as the book reached the Cultural Department on 31/1/2018, and sent on the second day To the Iraqi education, which is 1/2/2018, which is normal because we in the cultural circle do not delay the books that reach us at all, but we have dozens of other books sent on the day you arrived in, where we have completed about 12 thousand books between the issued and imported in 2018, Noting that "the author of the article claimed that the man has a close relationship with the pilgrims, in time In which the pilgrims confirm that he has met the man with the certificate only twice only throughout his life.
The department went on to say: "This was when the (man) came from Iraq to Iran, representing Iraq in two cultural forums according to his position and position, which is occupied by The functions of the Cultural Department to meet with Iraqi delegations to coordinate with the relevant Iranian bodies, "It seems that there are political differences that some try to reflect on others trying to mix the cards and take advantage of them as gains and spoils and enjoyment of his life without deterrent of religion or reprimands of conscience."

Agree, that is why I didn’t use the word “eliminate” because corruption is in their DNA.

But, imo, if some people in government actually wants to better Iraq, the corruption that is causing economic havoc, can be reduced imo. Of course “if” is key. 🙄
