I hope you are right. I'm 71 now and have seen a shift in the thinking of many people. Most don't want the socialist doctrine, but what they do want is a good pension. I know many people that could be making more money but they work for some form of government so they can get that GOOD pension. My daughter is one of them. I live outside a small town in a large county(not that many people) and I deal with the public on a daily basis. Got friends that are good people, are conservative, intelligent, but not willing to invest in themselves and find their true potential because they are afraid of failure. Somewhere along the line the government has made these people dependent on public funding to live. Until that stops many more fall into the trap. So my experience with the people I know and deal with everyday is that the socialist government is not what they want, but they will take all the freebies they can get while the getting is good. As long as the governments keep handing out those freebies people will wake up one day in that socialist government. I'm just glad I'm on my way out and not just coming into this world.

I have some ideas, probably nothing like "Common Sense" but maybe interesting coffee or dinner conversation.

Thank you Synopsis. Afraid there is no easy answer to these problems, but it is solvable. Will take a lot more determination from the younger crowd to make a change. Part of graduating from college should be proof that you spent at least 6 weeks in a third world country living like the natives. Maybe at that point more people would appreciate what is available here and be willing to defend it. I think you and I could start with early morning coffee and continue through dinner without any problem.
