BAGHDAD /
Prime Minister Haider al-Abbadi was due to leave Tuesday for New York City to attend the UN General Assembly.

However, this trip was not carried out, for reasons that may be related to the crisis of the referendum on secession, which the KRG intends to hold on September 25. Informed political sources told "Al-Ghad Press" that "the members of the Council of Ministers were informed late in the night of the need to attend the meeting of the Council of Ministers after being informed previously that there was no session because the meeting coincided with the travel of Abadi to the United States." The sources said; "The abolition of Abbadi on travel and his call to the Council to convene, because he will inform ministers of the decisions will be taken on the insistence of the President of the Kurdistan region Massoud Barzani to hold the referendum and how to deal with this crisis." The sources speculated that "Abadi has postponed his trip several hours to take decisions are firmly on the Kurdish insistence."
The sources pointed out, "Al-Ghad Press" information from them; that "Abadi may take a step represents a government response supported by the Federal Court after the issuance of the state order to stop the proceedings of the referendum in the Kurdistan region." Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi was due to leave for the United States this afternoon to attend the UN General Assembly. A source in Abadi's office told Al-Ghad Press that "three ministers will accompany Abadi on his trip." It should be noted that President Fuad Masum had canceled his scheduled visit to New York to attend the UN General Assembly due to the referendum crisis, and Abadi will attend it as a representative of Iraq.

I really like what President Trump had to say in the preceding speech to the UN General Assembly today.

I believe the references to Kim Jung Un are entirely accurate and warranted.

However, President Trump's comments failed to recognize Kim Jung Un as lil' "Fat Boy" with an exceptionally bad hair cut.

This Kim Jung Un Grease Ball needs to be Greased.

Kim Jung Un fails to realize that consuming those massive amounts of chicken wings will never give him the capability to fly.

I mean the guy needs an "exceeding large" motorized rocket launcher just to move him around.

I am concerned that Kim Jung Un's missiles are currently unreliable enough to transport lil' "Fat Boy" to the rightful destination.

No worries, we just need to acquire Kim Jung Un and drop ole lil' "Fat Boy" over Iran so that Kim Jung Un can realize the full potential of his very own nuclear weapons potential and neutralize Iran's nuclear ambitions at the same time. Two birds with one stone.

I like it.

Problem(s) Solved.

Just thinking out loud here.

Go Moola Nova!

"The subject of the travel and participation of Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi in the meetings of the UN General Assembly in New York has not yet been resolved," a spokesman for Prime Minister Saad al-Hadithi's office said. He told the Iraqi National News Agency (NINA) that "some officials of the Kurdistan region, headed by the President of the region, Massoud Barzani, confirmed that they go to dialogue with Baghdad after the referendum and we say that the purpose of the referendum attempt to acquire a pressure for dialogue, we call for serious dialogue before the referendum because It could create a problem and a state of congestion and escalation may complicate the scene and make the start of a constructive and positive dialogue is difficult. "

"There is today the possibility of withdrawing from the referendum, which has become rejected internally internally and from the three authorities in addition to the regional and international rejection will not be feasible," adding that "the brothers in the region are walking dead end and closed." "The insistence on the referendum will not lead to a result and negatively affect the atmosphere of enhancing confidence with the federal government to provide positive climate for dialogue, which must be built with mutual trust and not on the language of threat and escalation of positions is calculated consequences and risk the fate of all Iraqis and the first Kurds and their achievements."

Al-Hadithi stressed that "insisting on this approach will not lead to any positive outcome. We are looking forward to the superiority of the voice of reason and wisdom and are relying on the supreme national interest to cancel these measures and return to an extensive dialogue with the government to discuss all the problems in order to reach a solution under the constitutional framework. A constructive national solution, "noting that" every effort in the other direction is a waste of time and a distraction of effort and complexity of the scene and dialogue before the referendum will be more positive and chances of success is much greater after that because the result is not guaranteed what will happen after the referendum in the presence of mixed areas may get developed Negative impacts on the opportunities for dialogue. " He called on the Kurds to return to the dialogue table and stop the referendum procedures in order to create a positive atmosphere that gives and guarantees the rights of all Iraqis.

Iraq and the region in particular and since the announcement of the presidency of the region the date of the referendum on secession on the verge of a major crisis in light of the failure of the President of the region Massoud Barzani to local, regional and international demands to cancel or postpone the referendum to be held on September 25.

Conference in Kuwait for the reconstruction of Iraq early 2018

23-09-2017 02:57 PM

The Euphrates -

"Kuwait will host a conference for the reconstruction of Iraq," the US envoy to the international coalition against the organization said.

After the meeting of the "drawing of peace", on the sidelines of the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly, held in New York, McGregor said that the conference 'will be held early next year'.

Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khalid al-Hamad al-Sabah attended the meeting, which was called for by US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid said in his speech that the "important meeting" is to discuss ways to draw peace in Iraq by achieving elements of stability and reconstruction of liberated areas.

Deputy Foreign Minister Khalid al-Jarallah announced last month that his country had begun extensive contacts with the countries of the world, the World Bank and Iraq to host a conference for the reconstruction of destroyed areas north of Baghdad.

This step comes in the midst of the military operations against Da'ash, which recovered a large part of it within the battle of Mosul, about nine months ago, and ended with the announcement of Prime Minister Haider Abadi, 'victory over Daas.'

I listened for a long time blah blah blah we need peace and security we need help from the international community but nothing about any reevaluation of currency.  He also stated that Iraq supports Palestinians for a two state solution with Israel they will not interfere in Syria but that I rack has so many displaced people that still have nowhere to go and they need the international community support financially. It's funny cuz I  was thinking we needed the support of Iraq financially maybe I'm confused

disappointing that so few nations were represented, according to the videographer's panning of the auditorium...as to substance,  his message included an overview and request for humanitarian aid for displaced Iraqis relative to D'aesh, among other things.

And yes, he did mention political solution in Syria, and 2 state - Palestinian and Israeli with pre '67 boundaries. Also wants nuclear capability.

Perhaps folks are so Gosh Damn Sick & Tired of listening to Iraq run their mouths for well over a decade; the attendance was not what it might have been otherwise.

The UN is still ( with all it's problems ) RESULTS ORIENTED.

Owing to yet more chin wagging, dramatic pleas for help and probably little in the way of plan to convince most in the UN to think anything other than Iraq still has it's head firmly jammed up their own AZZ; with a Brown Ring around their neck proving they're still in AZZ Hole Defilade.

Iraq really does need to pull their finger out and get back into the Global Arena with the rest of the world. They've become so very tiresome and predictable and the Iraqi citizenry still suffers mightily had the hands of government officials more interested in lining their own pockets than launching Iraq onto the Global Stage.
