Finally moved in. Thursday my wife was out in the street walking a small dog that belonged to the neighbor who was helping me unload a fridge. The puppy got under foot and my wife went down. Face plant, broken wrist and bleeding face. She did not mess up either of her knees that were replaced last year. After she went down Ray said, You're wife went down, You're wife went down. Well I flew out of the garage and at that moment the puppy was running up the driveway and got under my feet. I went down and hit my chin. (No blood) I got up and got to my wife and made a cursory check. Cheek was road rash, chin cut, not stitch worthy, and no teeth damage. Thank God, he looked after her. He wrist looked swollen so we decided to send her to the ER. My daughter took her while I was told to finish the install and then come to the ER.

She had a splint put on and saw a hand specialist Friday and he did surgery and he had to put a plate in to repair her hand. She should have full recovery and the DR. said she should be fully recovered in a year. It is a bad break. Today is the first day we have been able to take a break. God has been looking out for us and doing a fine job only He can do. It could have been way worse. She is upset she can't help.

I told her just "Just point and click) and it will get done.

In case any body missed me on here that is the reason. We won't have Internet for a few days.

Thanks for the prayer. My wife thinks it is Gods way of testing us. I am fine, other than the normal aches and pains of a 61 year old doing most of the moving.

Puppy's name is Piper. We have insurance but won't know the cost till the paperwork is done.

This is just one of God's little road blocks we learn to ask for His help to get through it.

Come down here for medical stuff amigos.

Thats $70 greenbacks before they start to help you, not after.

Preemie born in Mexico and held ‘hostage’ by hospital finally makes it home to Indiana

MARTINSVILLE, Ind. – A newborn preemie who was being held “hostage” by a Cancun hospital was finally released and arrived at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis Thursday.

"It’s been awful," Beckham's aunt Amanda Smith told FOX59 in an exclusive interview shortly after Beckham arrived. "I mean, it’s been a roller coaster. It’s been from, you’re at rock bottom, we thought we were getting somewhere, we’re back down, we thought we were getting somewhere."

beckham.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&w=225&sThe nightmare started for Martinsville couple Michaela Smith and Larry Ralph Jr. shortly after their first child was born.

Michaela gave birth to Beckham 12 weeks early while they were on vacation in Mexico. He weighed just two pounds, eight ounces.

Shortly after his birth, the family says the hospital demanded they pay $13,000 for Beckham’s first day of care and various other fees.

"It wasn’t so much the quality of care as it was the staff and the outrageous demands of the hospital," said another aunt, Becca Ewert. "When it comes to the nurses and doctors, he was literally saying, they were going over and beyond. They did everything they could. He could tell they cared about the baby."

But the family says the hospital administration told them Beckham couldn’t leave until they paid the entire bill up front. The total kept changing but was last pegged at $30,000, just two hours after the family was told it would be $27,000.

They decided to call Greenwood city councilor Ezra Hill, who in turn reached out to Representative Trey Hollingsworth's staff for help.

"Our family is going to be forever indebted to them," said Ewert. "From the second we got a phone call to them, they never, ever stopped. It’s way more than a job to them."

Ewert and Smith say they were still receiving phone calls from Hollingsworth's staff well into the night and early morning hours trying to make sure Plan A and Plan B were still intact. As the family waited for Beckham's arrival at Riley Hospital for Children, Hollingsworth and the key staff who worked 24/7 to resolve the issue joined them.

Senator Donnelly's office stated they reached out to the U.S. Embassy in Mexico on Thursday.

Fortunately, Thursday afternoon, the hospital released the family with a reduced negotiated bill and they boarded a medical jet to head back to the United States.

That jet cost the family $30,800 up front  to transport Beckham all the way back to Indiana.

The family says every dollar spent was worth it to end a potentially life-and-death situation.

"It’s family," said Ewert. "There’s nothing more important than that. There isn’t."

No thanks.

How wonderful that your wife is doing so well!! And your progress?

My wife thinks I have a cocanut for a skull because it is so hard.

I like that instant lawn!

Yes. Sod and water. What a concept. In the last h*ll hole we lived in, water was rationed and grass was brown.

Amazing what a little h2o can do. Irrigation is part of the fee we pay for HOA and it is unlimited.

We have a large open space concept house with a raised foundation. We have 2 large electric sofas. My wife situated the sofas so that they are opposite each other. One is

near the wall. The other out about 15 feet across the room not near a wall. The closest wall plug was about 10 feet across the open floor.

You guessed it. She did not want a cord stretched across the floor.

Since it is a mechanical/electrical issue she contacted the maintenance dept(Me) and wanted to know what could be done about it.

After a week of research I purchased a flush mount electrical plug plate. Yesterday I drilled and cut out the wood floor and dropped the plate and wire in.

Today, with the help of my daughter, I dropped down into the crawl space, shimmied 25 feet, grabbed the wire, securing it as I went,

and returned the spot where I had previously drilled a hole through the interior wall sill plate. I then took my gun cleaning rod(with a slotted jag)

and had my daughter pull the wire up and out of the hole.

Then I proceeded to wire the plug up and finish. I then threw the breaker and waited for it to pop. No pop. Yea.

I told my wife to operate the couch and all worked well. She is a happy camper. No unsightly cords.

Thanks for reading.

Not fake news at all. As I know several people instrumental in getting the entire family back home and doing the fundraising for this. So call fake news all you want and you be wrong all you want. This happened just like the article stated. It's one to be outside of the story and another to be a part of it while it's happening.
