  • yota691 changed the title to AFP: Mosul begins a campaign to remove the rubble a year after the announcement of the restoration of the dashing

fit

The local government in Mosul has started the rubble removal operation from the devastated city, which has seen bloody battles to get out of the organization.

In a report, the AFP reported that about a year after the announcement of the restoration of Mosul, local authorities began the process of removing the rubble, with the participation of volunteers from the city, which was destroyed by nine months of bloody battles to defeat the Dahed organization.

The report added that the rubble removal operations involved hundreds of bulldozers and volunteers. The Ninewa local government started to remove the rubble and clean up the old city in western Mosul to encourage the return of displaced families to the historic area, which was almost completely destroyed.

"More than 300 vehicles took part in the campaign to lift the rubble and open the streets in neighborhoods of the old district," AFP quoted Jamal Salou, director of the local administration engineering department, as saying.

"The campaign is the first of its kind in the size of large participation," he said, adding that "the volume of destruction and damage that occurred after the war is very large and is estimated at more than 10 million tons of rubble."

In response to a question about the delay of the campaign, Sloo said that "the delay is due to the lack of access to financial allocations necessary to launch campaigns, and all participants in the current campaign and the predecessor working in waiting for payment of their financial dues when the money from Baghdad."

Earlier, several campaigns were launched to clean up the old city in the city of Mosul and remove some of the rubble, but it was limited, because the amount of destruction and damage that occurred after the war is too great and can not be lifted easily.

It is noteworthy that UNESCO, with the support of the United Arab Emirates, is working on the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Hadba Lighthouse and the Great Nouri Mosque, located in the heart of the Old City. This historic area in the ancient city of Mosul was very devastated because it was the last stronghold of the terrorist " City.

Good day LB, trust you are doing fine. What is your take on this? I am thinking that they are looking at getting this to about 80% to 85% of it off the street. This would be done by direct engagement from the CBI or by drawing it in from them spending it and the business owners depositing it in to the banks.

ChuckF,  I don't know if they can, they already have a liquidity problem....

We know they have been reducing the note count for years, taking the 000 notes off the streets and also a lot of the notes still

in circulation are damaged. This put a lot of pressure in the market, specially in a cash society.
