Field of oil Iraqi new reserves of one billion barrels

The Iraqi Oil Ministry on Sunday, drilling the first well in the oil field Hovaiza Maysan province, south-eastern Iraq on the border with Iran, and noted that the size of the expected reserves in the field exceed one billion barrels.

The ministry is currently developing the field through national effort represented by the Maysan Oil Company and the Iraqi Drilling Company and oil explorations, "noting that" the effort culminated in the first well drilled in the field. "

Allaibi added that "the next few stage will witness further development of border fields projects."

The statement also quoted Undersecretary of the Iraqi Ministry of Oil extraction for Karim Hattab confirmed that "surveys, geological studies and preliminary projections indicate that the size of the oil reserves of the field Hovaiza of more than one billion barrels and is one of the important fields."

The Hovaiza field in Maysan province on the border with Iran, is one of the fields but undeveloped.

Iraq's first oil wells dug near the border with Iran

BAGHDAD (Reuters) -

Iraq began drilling the first oil well in the "Hovaiza" field near the Iranian border, which estimated reserves of nearly one billion barrels.

He said Iraqi Oil Minister, Jabbar Laibi, said that the ministry is currently developing this field through the efforts of the oil company, "Maysan," the state-run Iraqi Drilling Company and the company's oil explorations. "

He said he was "ordered officials and workers to speed up production and drilling more wells within the field development program operations field."

Iraq is the second largest oil producer in the Organization of "OPEC" after Saudi Arabia, according to the data "OPEC" proven crude oil reserves of approximately 150 billion barrels last year.
