I hope they can, too, ChuckFinley! Seems odd that just now the 72 hours came up. I wonder if someone(s) or something(s) "encouraged" them to git 'er dun by June 1, 2017???!!!

 

        

 

Believe me, I've been looking for those maps! Haven't found anything, yet. I suspect more meaningful map information will be available between 10-12 CDT today. I'll check about 1 pm today after I get back from church.

Morning Synopsis and the rest of the DV community on this holiday weekend.  I have seen 72 hours and mid June.  This will all depend on the defense posture IS takes, defend in depth or final stand "Strong Point" If they decide to defend in depth, then we are looking at some time. If the decide to defend a "Strong Point" ( this is position that is well fortified and you are planning to die in place) then this should end fairly quickly. They are all colocated and several well placed bombs should solve the problem.

About 300 fighters only , most of them suicide bombers and from different nationalities, they became trapped since Sunday in Mosul , in the same box , which saw the emergence of theleader of the "Islamic State" (Daesh) Abu Bakr al - Baghdadi ,about three years before announcing the "successor" to the cities of Iraq and Syria. The battle in the city reached its final stage, and Iraqi forces backed by a French Canadian with American backing British surrounded the old town center of Mosul coast right from all directions, and no way in front of three hundred fighters but to surrender or continue fighting until the end. And confirm Iraqi military sources "new Arab" that the discount will not last long more than another week, and aim to prevent the continuation of the organization in the fighting until June 10 , which falls on the declaration of the fall of Mosul in 2014. In the meantime, officials in Baghdad said that Prime Minister , Haider al - Abadi, ordered to begin preparing for a celebration widely in the country with a declaration of liberation of Mosul , which will be through theperson, not in a military statement as happened in the rest of Iraq cities seized from theorganization "Daesh" in earlier times.

 

A huge bill

A spokesman for the Joint Special Operations Command said that the resolution of the battle of Mosul will be during the next 72 hours. 
This comes as a military source said 26 militants were killed during the incursion Daesh operation inside Zndjeli neighborhood.

Soon ... we will see fireworks backdropping the Great Mosque in Mosul and other landmarks symbolizing the next chapter in Iraq's story. That next chapter is Chapter 8, for us all. Then fireworks for us, as this part of the 'revolution' will be televised.
