Iraq Oil OPEC
A+AA-

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The Iraqi Oil Ministry said on Monday that the country’s oil exports averaged 3.377 million barrels per day (bpd) in March, a continued downward trend in the country’s exports in recent months.

In February, Iraq exported 3.62 million bpd of crude, a figure that was slightly less than January’s. Iraq is the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries’ (OPEC) second-largest producer just after Saudi Arabia and currently has an output below its maximum capacity of nearly five million bpd.

In early January, Baghdad reaffirmed its commitment to cut annual oil production as per an agreement between OPEC and additional non-member states such as Russia – known together as OPEC+ – to curtail global supply in order to bolster prices.

According to the oil ministry, the Basra port had exported 3.254 million bpd, a decline from the previous month’s 3.54. A media report quoted informed Iraqi officials as saying that poor weather conditions had contributed to the stark reduction.

Iraqi authorities have issued multiple warnings of possible floods across parts of the country amid another incidence of torrential rains.

“Rough weather forced us to stop loading operations more than once at the export terminals. We had to cut output from some oilfields during the export halt,” Reuters quoted one anonymous official as saying.

The condition also purportedly forced production cuts at some oil fields, according to Reuters, including the southern field of Majnoon, where output was down from 240,000 bpd in early March to 140,000 toward the middle of the month.

Exports from oil fields in Kirkuk province to Turkey’s Ceyhan port rose to 99,000 bpd in March, from 63,000 bpd the month before, the ministry added.

It also reported that the average sale price last month was USD 63.804 per barrel, generating about USD 6.68 billion in revenue.

WOWZERS!!!

Even HIGHER than the $63/barrel reported in ANOTHER ARTICLE!!!

So, a LITTLE myth, er, math for checking:

31 days x 3.377 million barrels/day = 104.687 million barrels

6.68 billion USD / 104.687 barrels = $63.809/barrel

DING!!!!!!!DING!!!!!!!DING!!!!!!!DING!!!!!!!DING!!!!!!!DING!!!!!!!DING!!!!!!!

:backflip:       :backflip:       :backflip:

In the OTHER post, I noted the WTI Dude Oil Futures 50 day average averaged about $56/barrel. The DIFFERENCE from THIS article is nominally $7.8/barrel ABOVE WTI Dude Oil.

HERE is a tally of SOME Bicraqi Iraqi Dinar internet vendor sites:

image.thumb.png.75b0f7ce646c2ae92aca142289a04570.png

For each of the denominations, the left side is uncirculated and the right side is circulated. Under the uncirculated and circulated are two columns. The column on the left is the largest lot size available and the column on the left side is the price per million Bicraqi Iraqi Dinar purchased in USD. Some vendors have an astronomic wheel that goes REALLY high so I assume NOT applicable. Red highlight/fill means the vendor offered that denomination at one time but is out of stock with the last known price. Green means in stock with the noted lot and price. Yellow means WAY, WAY TOO much personal information HAS to be given to get a price.

What is interesting is the 50,000 notes have been a challenge for quite some time to get. However, the 5,000 and 10,000 denominations have been drying up. There appears to be only two remaining offering the 1,000 denomination UNcirulated notes that surprises me since I thought the 250, 500, and 1,000 notes in circulation in Iraq were worn out so I would think these notes would be focused on replacing worn out notes in circulation in Iraq. One vendor ran out of the 500 denomination notes TODAY.

Kinda seems like when Crude Oil prices have a stronger surge, the Bicraqi Iraqi Dinar availability from these vendor sites goes down. Just my impression/gut feel only. Due to forum rules, I do NOT supply the name of the vendors or THEIR links.

Well, OK, just some somewhat interesting information I thought some may be interested in.

Could be somethin'. Could be nothin'.

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The Iraqi government will build a refinery in the disputed province of Kirkuk with a capacity of 150,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd), Oil Minister Thamer Ghadhban said on Monday.

“The ministry has put the final touches on building an investment refinery in Kirkuk with a capacity of 150,000 barrels per day and according to the latest international standards,” Ghadhban said during a visit to the province, according to Reuters.

Exports from oil fields in Kirkuk province to Turkey’s Ceyhan port rose to 99,000 bpd in March, from 63,000 bpd the month before, according to the ministry’s statement.

The disputed province of Kirkuk has some of the oldest and largest oilfields in the Middle East.

Since 2014, Kirkuk’s oil was exported through the autonomous Kurdistan Region to Turkey. However, the shipment was halted after the military takeover by Iraqi forces and Shia militias in the province on Oct. 16, 2017.

On Nov. 16, 2018, the Federal Government of Iraq restarted exports of Kirkuk oil to Turkey through the Kurdistan Region’s oil pipeline at a rate of around 50,000 bpd.

From the beginning of April until now, Iraq on average has exported 3.25 million bpd from southern ports, two sources from the ministry told Reuters.

In March, Iraq’s oil exports averaged 3.37 million bpd, down from 3.62 million bpd in February, as bad weather disrupted the loading.

Iraq is the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries’ (OPEC) second-largest producer just after Saudi Arabia and currently has an output below its maximum capacity of nearly five million bpd.

In early January, Baghdad reaffirmed its commitment to cut annual oil production as per an agreement between OPEC and additional non-member states such as Russia – known together as OPEC+ – to curtail global supply and bolster prices.
