- A spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, General Saad Maan, announced on Tuesday the issuance of more than 47 thousand passports and about 62 thousand national cards last week. 
"The Directorate of Civil Status, Passports and Residence issued 47414 passports and 49151 transactions under completion, while 1484 issued the certificate of Iraqi citizenship in Baghdad," Maan said in a statement received.

Foreign Minister stresses improving the status of the Iraqi passport between the countries of the world

BAGHDAD - Foreign Minister Mohammad Ali al-Hakim on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, stressed the importance of improving the Iraqi passport status among the countries of the world, for the purpose of ease of movement of Iraqi citizens between countries. 

"Foreign Minister Mohammed Ali al-Hakim met with a delegation from the institution of the Passport Index index, which deals with the classification of the international passport force," the ministry said in a statement received by the ministry.

The statement added that Hakim stressed during the meeting the importance of improving the status of the Iraqi passport, which affects the ease of movement of Iraqi citizens among the countries of the world, in addition to "providing technical consultations to sign memorandums of understanding with countries of the world to enter it without visa entry visa."

He added that "the delegation proposed a plan of action to improve the strength of the passport, and the signing of agreements contribute to the lifting of the classification of the Iraqi passport."

He explained that the department accommodates 200 references daily, in addition to allocating a special window for the families of martyrs and members of the security forces and the popular crowd, calling on all citizens in the judiciary to review in order to obtain the unified national card.
Azzam Kamel, the director of the Chinese side, told Al-Sabah that the return of the families to Baiji district and its environs is taking place faster than expected with the provision of services to the families returning to their areas of residence. He called on the people of Baiji district and the Chinese province to return to their areas especially after providing services and security. , And there is a plan of action includes the reopening of all schools in the Chinese area and equipped with school furniture during the summer vacation, while the staff of the popular mobilization to complete the cleaning of cities remnants of terrorism and provide services to families returning to the areas of housing in cooperation with the municipal effort.
For his part, Assistant Director of the Department of Migration and Displaced in Salah al-Din Rakan Khalaf told "Al-Sabah" that the number of families returning to their areas in the province reached 15 thousand and 200 families and there are 18 thousand families are still obtaining approvals for their return, indicating that the registration of families aims to include grants In addition to providing other projects for returnees and eliminating the file of displacement permanently.
He pointed to the division of the registration process between several districts through offices located in the provinces of Tuz and Shorouk and Biji to facilitate the review of citizens and absorb momentum from government departments.
As for the mayor of Baiji district Mohammed Mahmoud al-Jubouri, he told the "morning" that the clean-up operations in the district of Baiji and liberated areas continue to remove the remnants of war, such as bombs, explosive belts and other remnants of criminal gangs.
He pointed to the provision of services such as water and electricity, the restoration of infrastructure and the start of school reform, as well as the rehabilitation of hospitals and health centers to work in liberated areas.

The Committee of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities in the House of Representatives, on Wednesday, its full support for the draft e-Visa in order to keep pace with the global development and raise the status of the Iraqi passport in all Arab and foreign countries.
