Baghdad Denys Sending Kirkuk Share from Province’s Oil Income

PUK is also trying to have a share from Kirkuk oil production out of law

Baghdad Denys Sending Kirkuk Share from Province’s Oil Income
KIRKUK — The Iraqi central government is violating a trilateral agreement between Erbil, Baghdad and Kirkuk province on oil, depriving the province of the incomes from the oil sent to Baghdad refineries, said a Kurdish official.

Head of Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) branch office in Kirkuk, Mohammed Kamal, told BasNews on Saturday that according to a previous agreement between Kirkuk, Erbil and Baghdad, over 30,000 barrels of Kirkuk’s oil is being transported to Dora refinery in Baghdad with 20,000 to 30,000 barrels being sent to Erbil’s Kawrgosk refinery, for both of which the recipients are obliged to share revenues with Kirkuk province.

Baghdad is not sharing the incomes with Kirkuk while Erbil is committed to the agreement and sends $10 million to Kirkuk every month, Kamal stated.

Also, nearly 130,000 barrels of Kirkuk oil is being exported to Turkey’s Ceyhan port via Kurdistan Region’s pipeline network.

Earlier on Thursday, a group of Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK)-affiliated forces stormed several oil exporting stations in Kirkuk and caused hours-long suspension in the flow. According to Kurdish member of the Iraqi parliament, Shakhawan Abdullah, PUK is attempting to take control of the stream and send 20,000 barrels of Kirkuk oil to some companies belonging to the party.

According to a ministry statement, 'at a time when the Ministry of Oil confirms its commitment to the provision of petroleum products to the people of Iraq, especially in areas liberated from the terrorist Daesh gangs, they unequivocally reject the use of military force by any party to take control of oil installations and the attempt to impose a fait accompli to the goals of political interests or zonal, also rejects the statements , which aims to fabricate a crisis in order to distort the truth and insult to the government and the Ministry of oil. "

He said ' the government and the oil ministry has made over the past years great efforts to resolve the outstanding problems between the center and the Kurdistan region, and despite the lack of commitment to the region fulfill its obligations documented on previous agreements, the government and the Oil Ministry put the homeland and the citizen 's interest in the areas of the province and the cities liberated within Olowiadtha through the provision of oil derivatives meet the needs of the population there in the light of the difficult financial and economic situation experienced by the country. "

It showed that 'This contract is an achievement for the government and the ministry in finding alternatives and address the shortage crisis taking place in the oil products despite the economic difficulties and the lack of financial allocations'.

The statement pointed out that ' the cost of refining a barrel , according to Mans in the contract does not exceed 10 dollars, the lowest and best price that can be obtained in the global liquidation sector and that the prices prevailing in the refining of petroleum products accounts is more than $ 12 a barrel, hence the contract will provide a financial payoff and reduces foreign currency to spend. '

He pointed out that 'this refinery will cover a large part of the need of those cities through the production quantity of 15 003 m of gasoline per day and 1,100 m3 of gas oil [kerosene] and 255 m3 of white oil [kerosene] per day in addition to the 4,500 m 3 of black oil per day to cover the needs of all investment projects in the province of Kirkuk and the region of this article, as well as Qayyarah power station , the amount of processing 500 m3 of gas oil per day. '

And claims created a refinery in the province of Kirkuk , the oil ministry said it 'had previously called for investment companies several years ago to set up a refinery in Kirkuk , 150 thousand barrels per day, but has not received appropriate offers that achieve the desired goals and it seems that the instability of the security and political situation in the province was one of the reasons that have hindered the implementation of this project , the ministry confirms to strive to move forward to achieve this goal, as well as on the implementation of development projects of oil installations in the province. "

Finally , the ministry statement by pointing out that 'For the reasons above have contracted to refine this amount of crude oil transported by pipeline from the North Oil Company fields to the refinery , which was created in 2003 by the province of Nineveh , was taken to a nearby Erbil cities, and that the Council Cabinet has approved the contract , which represents one of the effective solutions and the best option to address the acute shortage of petroleum products and the provision of electricity in the light of the economic and security challenges in the northern provinces, including the province of Nineveh, the production of this quantity of oil derivatives will ease the burden on the central and southern refineries , which has mobilized all its energies art during the last term in order to increase national production of oil derivatives'.

How can the world take this country seriously if they don't take themselves seriously.     They need to start looking outside their own little boxes and looking in, and then maybe they will see how immature they truly are.   They are going to finally make the steps they've talked about/promised for years only to see no one there.  Oops there future has not only passed them by, but now the dinosaurs have regained the power position in the workd once again!

Imo it is a good thing that we got to see the true skin and bones of the political discord in iraq. The corruption runs so deep there is no end. But that's okay because soon they(msm media) will praise iraq for "fighting terrorism" around the world and for being a "righteous country", but we know the truth, many christians suffered the most..yes Abadi did a good job but honestly how could a man like maliki still be running around..guilty as charged..if I ever saw Abadi that's the only ? I would ask. For the record, IMO iraq wants this rv as much as I do...but on a more serious note..they can't pay for the new found wealth unless there is money there to pay for such a massive revaluation..including other countries..it's only basic economics...CBI won't pay for their rv neither will the UST..they don't have trillions just sitting in their vaults.the rv can only happen when this " payable money" is made liquid to pay our redemption at Exchange Time. If one truly believes this is real then knowing exchange time will come one day is a certain. Therefore...the rv will happen when the Historical Collateral Accounts are opened and quadrillions of new money is financed and put into the world economy through (just one of the channels) being revaluations of some undervalued currencies. The truth is the battle against good and evil has been for as long as man has existed...and what happens in the background we do not hear much of unless someone at the tip of the spear decides to fill us in. group k on youtube...NE ways,
