Iraqi President Fouad Massoum greeted the new American president Donald Trump on assuming his presidential mission, voicing hope that the new administration could support the war on terrorism and world stability.

A statement released by the presidential office on Saturday said Massoum sent on Friday a cable of greetings to the 45th president of the US after he assumed his constitutional missions.

In his cable, Massoum voiced his best wishes and greetings for the new American president after he was officially inaugurated on Friday.

Massoum asserted the depth of strategic cooperation relations between Iraq and the US at all levels. He voiced confidence that the coming phase would witness a new starting point that would reinforce the fight against terrorism and serve stability, peace and development at the regional and international levels.
