 Geezzz my first thought when I read that title was that someone was saying that Iraq will be the cement in the world's markets, Imagine how telling that statement would be. But then I read the article and instead they're saying that their cement will compete with my cement.  I love a good challenge, bring it Iraq.

I dont suppose the Manufacturer could spare, oh say, a 100 lb. bag for a Cement Suit for Maliki for his sailing trip out into the Arabian Gulf ???????

lets say they can sell a ton of cement for only $50 in profit. Multiply that by 32,000,000 tonnes and you have well over $1.5 Billion in production. I would say that is a serious export even if only a fraction of it is used in the domestic market.

Keeping who I work for a secret, I can tell you that you're not that far off on the profit margin. 24.5 tons of cement base runs about that price, and by the time we finish the product our cost is less than a dollar an 80ld bag. And that usually sells for about $6.50. I am stunned at the amount of money is dirt.

I'm just a broken down old carpenter that has poured a lot of cement in my day. I was just figuring on the low side based on what I have to buy an 80lb sack of cement for here in Humboldt County California. Cement is an amazing commodity for sure!

Iraq, December 17, 2016 

Pakistan’s Lucky Cement has announced plans to increase capacity at its grinding unit in Iraq.

In a statement to the stock market, the company said that together with its Joint Venture partner, it will to increase its existing cement grinding capacity from 0.871 million tons to 1.742 million tons per annum.

This expansion is to be financed by internally generated cash-flows of the existing grinding unit.
