Thanks for this and and all the articles you bring us Yota, very very much appreciated  :twothumbs:

"Reconstruction of Iraq"

This means massive amounts of money being spent and received and this has been the plan from the get go, war is business on a grand scale and we are seeing the rebirth of a nation happen. The Iraq Dinar can not be kept at its present value  in order to do business on such a massive scale, not because of the huge numbers but because WE know the Dinar is being held way below par value on purpose. Big changes are coming for Iraq and its people, and its about time, enough suffering has taken place there but change is also coming in the value of its currency as well. It's getting good DV and 2017 should bring "buenas noticias"

Is this an old article?  The date says TUESDAY Nov 12

So then the article is older, the date is Nov 1, 2016. Though I don't think I read it back then .  I like the thought that 2017 would be the year of the reconstruction of Iraq and a RV. Since the justification for keeping the value of the dinar artificially low was to rebuild Iraq on the cheap, coupled with this being the year of the reconstruction.  What would motivate the CBI/ MoF to RV until after the majority of the reconstruction is complete?

Kevin, would it not be easier to rebuild with a more valuable currency ?

The trending belief says no to that. While at some point they should be forced to RV at a higher rate, it is cheaper to keep the value low where it is right now. The reason being is that it is cheaper to rebuild Iraqs infrastructure with under valued currency, if only for the cost of labor. But it will be for the cost of labor, materials, financing of projects etc. Simple economics really.

I would think that most materials to rebuild would have to be imported from outside of Iraq, if that is the case then  the imported goods would cost much less if the dinar had a higher value..
