Catnip is in the mint family and effects around 50% or so of the cats that come in contact with it.  It is considered harmless, and has somewhat the effect of pot on some and LSD on others...depending on if they sniff it or ingest it.  The effects last around 10 minutes.  It does make a relaxing tea for humans similar to chamomile tea.  And best of all...you can grow your own patch and create your own entertainment!!!
