The Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources Abdul Sattar Majid said in a statement posted on their profile across social networking site (Facebook), the ministry decided to reduce the import of frozen chicken from abroad to Kurdistan Region by 50%, in order to preserve the local chicken production, which prices dropped dramatically in markets of the region, and in order to Aatdharr poultry owners. The Minister of Agriculture that the ministry took into account the interests of poultry owners also allowed the marketing of local chicken products to the rest of the Iraqi provinces. The price of a kilo domestic chicken in last summer has exceeded 4 thousand dinars in the markets of the region, while its price ranges between now and 2500 the 2 per kilo.
