President of the Kurdistan region, Massoud Barzani, shaking hands with Oil Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi - Z p

Twilight News / Iraqi Oil Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi said he had not yet reached an agreement on oil exports from Iraq's Kurdistan region, reiterating opposition to the central government in Baghdad to sell Erbil oil directly instead of being transferred to the Iraqi Oil Marketing Company (SOMO).

Abdul-Mahdi said in a press statement, said "We are still at a standstill ... waiting for serious talks with our brothers in Kurdistan."

Kurdistan Regional Government and Baghdad began to skip and export of oil directly in 2014 after a dispute with the central government on the region's share in the budget. Currently, the province exported more than 500 thousand barrels per day.

Abdul-Mahdi said, "If the oil handed over will receive a seventeen percent rate," a reference to the custom of the general budget of the Kurdish authorities in the region in exchange for oil.

He added that the Baghdad talks with foreign oil companies operating in the south on the review of conditions of service agreements with those companies going in a good direction.

"I got some cuts in the costs of international oil companies. We are still talking. International oil companies made some suggestions ... we have reduced the gap than ever before."

"We ask that there are some incentives for international oil companies but we want it to also assume responsibilities when the price is low and we both also responsible for cost reduction.

Oil Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi announced that he has not yet reached an agreement on oil exports from the Kurdistan region.

He renewed Abdul-Mahdi, in a press statement opposing the federal government to sell its oil Erbil directly instead of through the marketing company SOMO revealing that negotiations with the province is still at a standstill.

Adding that the region would get the seventeen allocated to it in the state budget if the percent ratio him to sell oil revenues to the center.

The Kurds are a bunch of pre Madonnas that cannot seem to pull their controlling little heads out of their tiny little arses.... ..imho.

While the Kurds defend Iraq  and make sacrifice with Lives Lost everyday, all along they don't get paid or haven't been paid..I don't see it as you do..

The irony is they are only going to flood the market with even more oil. It will only drive the price of a barrel down even more. Not the answer to the problem. More importantly, the never ending saga of the HCL has been going on forever, understandable while Mr M was PM. Mr M was booted out by his own people as no one could trust him. Abadi steps in over a year ago and has been straight up with Iraq on where they are and where they need to be, and making huge progress every since. Iraq and the Kurds have joined together in the fight to kick out ISIS and, so on some levels they are working together now. But that ever illusive HCL is a seperate issue that even to this day is a huge hold up to the advancement of Iraq. They should be joining forces against OPEC and OPEC members should be asking the Saudies to stop flooding the market to drive the price down. Who is the real enemy here is not so transparent. The Saudies just can't stand it that America doesn't need them any more so they have set out to close down our drilling operations, and hurting there own economies at the same time. The Kurds and Iraq need to pull together on all levels, and join other OPEC members in dissolving their OPEC organization altogether if they want their own economies to pick up again. Some one has got to stop flooding the markets if they want their budgets to have money again. Or they can all keep going in the direction they are currently going in... IMHO....

I fear that too many of you are putting all your Revalue "eggs" in the HCL basket. It is way more complicated than that, people. If all you see is the HCL standing in the way of the revalue of the dinar, then you are listening to too many gurus. It will take a complete economic makeover before the CBI will stick it's neck out and move the peg downward. It's all about keeping their jobs over there. The government officials are the only ones making any reliable money and they don't want give that up.

This is true Anti, but you have got to see all the progress that has already taken place since Abadi took over. More importantly, HCL is the splinter in the lions paw. It isn't the catalyst in my opinion, but the compass for all of Iraq that will push them forward to even greater things. It will be the most obvious thing in Iraqis eyes to prove Iraq can overcome that one problem that has been in the news for literally years. And that is why I say Kurds are controlling. They have the power to make this work as Bagdaddy keeps bending over trying to work with them... It will come together, I am just getting impatient with the Kurds forever standing back and wanting to talk more about it. It is a dead horse, and if they can push past this, it will indeed open new chapters for Iraq, mentally!
