This week's update is was delayed due to LGD's recent post here.

*** Update - Here is the weekly!***

Hey Hey Hey It's Thursday!

Good morning DinarVets members, and welcome to the most
recent weekly update on the Iraqi Dinar. I always work my tail
off to get these things up on Wednesday, as early as possible,
but thanks to the hard work of one of our members (LGD) this
week's update had to be postponed.

I sincerely hope you've been following along over the last few
weeks, but we all know that some of you were on romantic
getaways in Fiji or on crazy submarine adventures through the
catacombs of the New York sewer system or maybe you just
forgot to turn on your internet, so let me give you a very quick
refresher!

Regarding the Dinar, I haven't had much to say in about a month,
and that remains unchanged. We've been on stand-by for the
HCL, and we remain on stand-by. However, that doesn't mean
this amazing community has been sitting idle!

In fact, quite the opposite. If you're new here, I encourage you
to prepare yourself for some powerful feelings.

Here at DinarVets, we've always encouraged selfless actions
and a spirit of giving. That may surprise a lot of you, since most
people that are looking for news on the Dinar are really just
wondering "Am I rich yet? When will MY dinar revalue??!"

And a lot of other sites out there are all about that... in fact, I
can't remember the last time any of the other dinar sites held a
fundraiser to benefit anyone other than the site owners.

That is NOT true for us here at DinarVets. We've raised many
THOUSANDS for many good causes. Haiti, our Vets, Katrina,
Breast Cancer Awareness, and more... I lost count. Those of you
that have been with us for the long haul KNOW that we've done
a lot of good for people in need... and right now we are in a unique
position to do something really important.

You might have heard about Tropical Storm Erika recently. It
went through the Caribbean, and although it's not in the news
this week... it almost wiped out a complete country island.

Yeah, it's old news now, but it's not a dead issue.

The island of Dominica was obliterated, and is STILL devastated...

... in fact, it's believed that the island was set back at least 20 years.

Have you seen this on the news in the last week?

I'm guessing "NO", because it's 'old news'... but I promise you
that it is NOT 'old news' to the people of Dominica, who are
struggling for food, clean water, and just plain HELP!

Over the last couple weeks, I've talked about this... and thanks
to the help of some amazing members here, we've been able to
work out a majority of the logistics to doing something URGENTLY
important... something that I haven't seen ANY other group even
trying to do.

You are part of this, and you should be proud! This is something
that I haven't seen done before, so maybe we're pioneers on this
kind of effort... but that means nothing. What is important is how
our efforts will help people and what we are doing. Let's be very
specific: We are going to ship a container of food and supplies to
Dominica, and we are going to receive nothing in return.

I may have been a little quiet on the forums recently, and that's
because I've been kicking some serious tail figuring out how to
best focus our efforts and our money.

After talking to multiple churches and other organizations in this
poor country, I can tell you a couple things with absolutely zero
hesitation.

1. They don't want money - they want SUPPLIES.

2. Although there isn't any dedicated group focused on helping
DOMINICA specifically... we CAN and WILL make a difference
for these people!

So here's the deal. The longer this sits, the colder it gets, and
the less these people will get. It's not in the news anymore, it's
cold and stale... but for the people living it, it's NOWHERE NEAR
"stale" - please get involved with us!

Our goal is $20,000. Click the link below and contribute whatever
you can afford, and be PROUD that you are part of this amazing
community.

Here's the current link to donate: http://goo.gl/VIuNeb

Just add the amount you want to chip in. If you want to donate $500,
enter 50 then update it.

(I'm working diligently on a mod to the forum that will show our
progress. Until that's complete, I'll just update the number manually.
This matter is too time sensitive to delay!)

Once we reach the goal, I am personally going to be responsible
for a majority of the operation. If I have to go load the container
myself, I WILL. Your money is going to go to provide food and
necessities for the people of DOMINICA.

You might wonder why we've put so much work into this... can't
we just donate to an established charity and let them do the work?

I wish we could... but I can't find one organization that is committed
to helping the people of Dominica.

The closest organization I found was "foodforthepoor", but upon
examination I found that they don't have a specific effort for
Dominica, and the CEO made over $400,000 last year.

That doesn't sound like a "charity" or a "non-profit" to me, so I
can't in good conscience endorse them... but we still want to help,
so what do we do?

Simple.. we do it ourselves.

And that's what we're doing. Click this link: http://goo.gl/VIuNeb

This isn't a charity type deal. You don't get a tax break, because I
have no desire to get into that "game"... If you donate, you're doing
this out of the goodness of your own heart. And you have my word
that every penny will go towards the actual costs of getting supplies
to the people of Dominica.

If I have to fly to Miami or wherever to load the crate, I'll do it out
of my own pocket. If I have to fly to Dominica to make sure the goods
get to the right place, I will pay out of my own pocket. And if any of
you have a strong back and the ability to join me in this effort, I'll
consider asking you for help.

I'll post pictures of the food and supplies purchased. If you have any
other ideas on how I can reward you, I will do everything in my power.

I am passionate about this effort, and I know there are a lot of you
that are just as passionate and have already pledged to support it.

I'm kicking in the first $1000. Once we reach $10,000, I will kick in
another $1000 of my own money.

That's how serious I am. If you can only give $5... DO IT!

This isn't for me, or you, or your neighbor... this is for people on an
island that was destroyed, set back 20 years or more, and it's not
even on the news this week.

Get on board and let's do something good.

I'm proud of all of you already, because I know what this community
does in these situations.

FYI everyone... this link http://goo.gl/VIuNeb has been clicked 198 times, but only 23 of you clickers found your credit card.

Don't be scared, and you CAN donate more than once! :D

The hard part is finding your wallet... the next hard part is pulling out cash... but the best part is the warm fuzzies you get after you donate.

Oh, and don't let me be the only one pushing for this! Bump this topic, share it with your friends, let's get this rocking even more than it already is!

LOL

Don't get me started. LOL

I've been sayin from the beginning if everyone could just do ten

dollars we'd have plenty for the good folk of Dominica.

Adam, as you know I have a checking account, but I don't leave

my savings in it. By tomorrow morning I will have deposited the

Funds that I promised you for my wife and I, and for Snowglobe.

And if there is ANYTHING more I can do please let me know.

Any thoughts about a "soliciting-of-any-kind-is-not-allowed" drive or something like that. Then we get the attention of folks not involved with dinar/iraq speculation.

I am not sure how that works so I am not sure if it is the best option for this.

Just a suggestion.

Ugh, not "no-soliciting". This is one time when the "don't mention other sites and stuff is no bueno.

I was trying to refer to Geux Phund Mi. Sheesh.
